I wouldn't pay any attention to any Canadian bravado. Not much to choose between these two teams.

Congrats on your silver and your exciting young team. It would have been impossible to spin that you weren't deserving if you had pulled it off, though I am sure many would have tried.

Gleason was pretty good in the overtime after sitting on the bench for the last half of the 3rd.

I dunno why, but I found myself cheering hardcore against Staal in this game too.

EDIT: Wow, look at the size of the Canadian roster compared to the US. I noticed it earlier, but going one by one they're all HUGE.

Years from now, this will be remembered as the Olympics where Crosby put the team on his back and won us the gold. He wasn't even one of our 5 best players.

Yep. Guys like Doughty, Weber, Luongo, hell even Crosby's linemates (Iginla, Nash and Staal) were better players not just today but throughout the tournament. But people won't remember how good they were (well maybe Lou) all they'll really remember is Crosby's goal. The fact that people are still clamoring for Paul Henderson to make the HHoF despite the fact that aside from one tournament he was a rather average player is a testament to how annoying the Crosby love-fest is going to be from here on out.

They all take hGH and steroids. Time to forfeit their metal and USA gets gold.

I guess most of the Canadians are all big corn fed, farm boys. They all are indeed pretty big.

And that's the shame in it all. I remember in the Russia game they kept showing Crosby and talking about how great he is and he didn't do ***** in that game.

Staal makes an outstanding pass to Iginla who scores, Crosby doesn't even touch the puck or does nothing, but he created that goal.

Crosby wasn't their best player, sure he showed up when it was the most important, but IMHO, Doughty was Canada's MVP.

I really didn't want to see Crosby get that goal just because I'm sick of hearing about him all the time as it is. But, a goal is a goal when it wins you the gold medal. I really didn't feel too confident about team Canada heading into the overtime. Most of all, I'm happy it didn't go to a shootout because that would've been ********.

Unfortunately, Staal didn't do much of anything today. Would've liked him to play a bigger role but what can ya do? Gleason was good and all of our guys got a medal so I'm happy.

Yep, I believe Anaheim and Vancouver are the only other teams in the league that can make that claim.

Vancouver can't, Demitra got 4th. Just us and the Ducks by the looks of it.

Sedins also stunk it up a bit, coming in fifth. And have you guys forgotten about Hiller?

Congratulations, canadian Canes fans.

Did Sami Salo play for Finland? I thought he did. I could be mistaken.

I interpreted it more as a question of all of our players in the Olympics getting a medal, rather than some of our guys getting each of the medals.

Yeah I interpreted it as a team with a player from each of the medalist countries.

Yes, we would be the only team to have each Olympian medal.

After seeing his performance this tournament, and seeing his interview afterward, it's impossible to hate the guy.

Also, nice to see all our guys bring home some medals. I guess the Hurricanes win when it really counts.

Sorry, DaveG, but Luongo was awful. He got in the way just enough.

Clears the way for Cam Ward in 2014, I think.

I don't really have anything to add.

I just felt like flashing the avatar I've been parading around in the last two weeks on this board -- Cheers!

Hm. Did you perhaps stumble into the wrong board?
