Not true. The Swedes have a glaring weakness on the wing. That is something that will get them ousted before earning a medal.

Yes, it is very tough nowadays to finish top 4 in a 4 man group.

Yes Russia has a great top 5-6 forwards but after that Canada kills them on lines 3/4. I'm not one bit sold on the defence that Russia has assembled. Tyutin? Nikulin? Grebeshkov? Kalinin? After Markov/Gonchar I dont think the bottom two pairings will be able to hold up against Canada's 4 balanced lines.
Dont forget Volchenkov. He is a top shutdown D-man with some serious snarl. His pairing and that of Markov (they will be seperated) gives Russia two pairings capable of shutting down our forward core, and both guys can log big minutes.

We may only get 8 or 9 minutes in the game where one of them wont be on the ice, come the final.

even though russia has an insane amount of skill they arn't balanced enough in order to get more than a bronze medal.

Only 7 teams are able to compete for a medal, its been that way for while.

Slovakia is too weak, Gaborik is hurt, and wont be 100%. They will finish 6th or 7th.

Finland 's squad is iffy, I have them at 6th

The Czech Republic isnt as strong as they were in the '90s. Is Jagr good enough to help the team? I have them at 5th

USA, great young forwards, but the loss of Paul Martin hurts, will Miller be able to steal games? 4th

1. Canada (kills me)
2. Russia (also kills me)
3. Sweden

Obviously, I meant finish in top 4 overall (to get a bye). This wouldn't be so important if there was a day off before Quarterfinals.

I would guess the loser of Sweden-Finland has good chance at 4th.

Gold: Canada, I predict USA will win in the preliminary round, hmm 5-3? and then they will meet in the gold medal game and Crosby scores OT to make it 3-2
Silver: USA, Miller takes them all the way there
Bronze: Finland, will get blown out by USA like 6-1 or something but will pull it together to beat Slovakia 5-3?

I also predict Canada beat Russia 7-3 (yeah i no im dreaming) and Slovakia 3-2 in a nail biter!

No one else was close, and this one was nearly dead on (save for the Sweden part).

This is especially ironic due to the large amount of hind-sight clairvoyants gracing the boards today. haha.

Funny how many times the US were picked to finish in the medals.

I guess they weren't as huge a surprise as some would try to have you believe.
