carolina should try lisin out.
at worst he's a young warm body that allows them to trade someone else.

Lisin = good as claimed. Then again that's what we all thought about Hensick... so... I don't even know anymore.

Why did Atlanta sign Chelios just to waive him? Are they sending him back down to Chicago?

uh, i don't see the whole petr sykora relation, even in sykora's days witht he NYR he was primarily a shooter, not really anything else at all.

to make a lisin:

1 part nikolai zherdev - mostly the part of him that seems to just be completely lost on the ice, even offensively, if he doesn't have the puck on his stick.

3 parts rico fata - anytime the puck actually is on his stick.

They had to waive him to sign him...apparently. It's not like it's a big deal, no one claims players like that or else they would have just signed him in the first place sometime in the last 9 months...

I remember this exact same thing happened last year with even more players! I wouldn't be surprised to hear of a bunch more guys on waivers before the day is over.

Also, where the hell did John Grahame come from?

Lisin is "primarily a shooter, not really anything else at all" as well.

The Sykora bit isn't a comparison, but his maximum upside.

I had a good laugh when I saw Grahame on the list. We were trying to figure out who all were the US goalie at Salt Lake and turin on sunday (other then Richter) while watching the gold medal game.

Because of his experience he has to go thru recall waivers before he can be brought up to the Thrashers.

Kids was labeled as one of the fastest players in the game. For a guy with supposed blazing speed, he just gets lost in the shuffle often and is rarely noticeable or a factor in games.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering that myself, I thought Philadelphia or their minor league team grabbed him earlier in the year. I just looked at the stats, and he's played 12 games for Adirondack (AHL) where he went 2-10 (of course)...

Funny, if they would have announced Lisin for Moreau trade, I would have been happy...

Respectfully, I'm not positive that that's true in this case. Chelios was never sent down by the Atlanta organization, he was signed by Chicago of the AHL...I think he just has to go through waivers because he played professionally outside the NHL during the course of the regular season (although, I was pretty sure that rule was reserved for players outside North America, see: Robitaille, Randy a couple years back)...

I'm just about positive this is not a recall waivers situation.

Why it's Colorado that recalled Grahame???

He only was on an AHL contract with Adirondack??

I thought Ryan Jones was a pretty decent youngster? He had 7 goals in 41 games and he's pretty big.

He's not getting enough ice time in Nashville.
