I think the Leafs Hurricanes and Oilers would put in claims if they can move out a forward or two before 12pm tomorrow, and don't get bodies back.

Yeah, I miss Prucha and Korpedo.

Montreal should pick up one of Lisin, Voros, or Eriksson, especially one of the first 2. Voros is a big body that could help the Habs on the fourth line. Lisin could be that RW on the third line or fourth line, depending on when or if we trade Lapierre.

Lazy? No.

Questionable hockey sense? More accurate.

With so much talk of Ryan Jones possibly being involved as part of the return in a Poni deal, you gotta believe Toronto doesn't let Jones pass them by on the waiver-wire...and then still trade Poni for a 2nd +

The Sykora bit isn't a comparison, but his maximum upside.
i wouldn't consider Lisin a shooter at all. Sykora could hit corners while moving, and didn't do much with or without the puck outside of get himself in a shooting position and fire it. except in his nyr days, when either he fire'd it without getting in good shooting position, or tried to handle the puck when he should've shot.

Lisin primarily stays out of shooting zones, and looks to receive the puck in a position where he can skate and handle it some. Lisin seems like he can beat a goalie if he can puckhandle it into the crease, but outside that his shot selection is terrible. zherdev wasn't really a shooter but he had a hell of a shot selection. Lisin has the talent set of a playmaker, but he doesn't do anything away from the puck to create room for anyone else

I'd pick up Voros if i were Montreal.

Not that i'm particularly high on him, but he does bring size and some grit. I'd rather have him on our 4th line wing than D'Agostini, Darche or Pyatt.

I'd really be surprised if the Leafs don't pick up Lisin and maybe Voros.

Surprised to see Ryan Jones on waivers, seems like he has a good future.

Why would Atl waive Chelios? Didnt they just sign him?

i could see the leafs picking up voros to add more toughness since that seems to be a main priority of their organization

Ugh, I really have no clue why Vigneault favours Rome and Baumgartner over Lukowich. He's the better defenceman in my eyes.

Hmm, how about no. When Cammalleri will be healthy in 10-14 days, there won't even be room for Sergei in the top 6. Why the heck would we claim Lisin on top of that?

And seriously, you want Anders Eriksson?

Voros would be an OK pickup, IF he wasn't making 1 M next season. But he is, so no thanks. I'd rather claim Ryan Jones at 975 K as he has upside left.

That was the name that jumped out for me also.

His cap hit is friendly enough for us...if Shero claimed Bourque, I don't see why he wouldn't give Jones a shot. Lord knows we need big wingers with scoring potential.

Because Luko's salary is $2+ Million.

Rome & Baumer are far more cap friendly. Not necessarily as good, but it's a salary cap world we live in!
