I'll take those forward lines. Smithson with Legwand and Ward makes me cringe (almost as much as the idea of calling it our second line), but the lines are balanced on the whole and we could probably roll them tonight.

I also don't approve of Rinne getting the start. Ellis played lights-out for us before the break, and Rinne gave up four goals to New Jersey. This back-and-forth business can only go on for so long. At some point, you have to pick a goalie and start him for four or five games in a row, or he won't get any kind of rhythm going.

I fully expect a loss tonight. Most of the guys will likely be a bit rusty after two weeks of no actual games to play, so they'll have to get their timing back.

I think we'll tear them a new one. I think this team is ready to get going.

Umm...the other team has the same issue, so I think we're on level playing ground there...

If anything, it's been a great break for our vets and I expect the SAD line to come out flying. They want to play together and Trotz has (thankfully) made it clear to them that the only way they're gonna do so is to work at both ends of the rink.

I think the players from both teams are gonna come out very energized and eager to get back underway...should be an interesting first five minutes before the team's settle in...

Lets hope they come out flying. If not, they need to get split up again. They had their chance and dug us hole. We need to win this for sure. Too close of a race to lose this one.

I just don't see it. Rinne hasn't faced any shots in two weeks (and, much like Vokoun, he lapses into bad form when he doesn't see regular traffic), we have a player who has never even practiced with this team (has he?). I realize Edmonton is a terrible road team(and terrible team in general, but we always seem to come out flat at home in games where we need to or are expected to play well.

Besides, if I start feeling confident about the game, we really will get our ***** handed to us.

Edmonton hasn't seen any shots or taken any in real play in weeks either. And they are on the road.

And, exactly, we've come out flat at home a lot this season. Therefore, the break will help us. A chance to break the cycle.

First you wanted the new guy to play second pairing with Hamhuis, now he's a liability on the third pairing? I say he'll be inspired by Bouillon knocking into multiple people on one play...

Just need to go by feel. Mainly, I'm going by the SAD line being rested, Goc having played a leading role for Germany and wanting to show what he can do here with two good linemates. A few other things.

Just gut feel that we will show that we need it more.

I don't think it's contradictory to want Grebs to play on a pairing with Hamhuis while still thinking his lack of familiarity with players around him and the team system could provide an obvious weakness for the first couple of games he plays as a Predator.

u have to be the most optimistic person in our fan base when it comes to players and the team

We'll turn it around. I'm not bailing on the SAD line yet. They are usually good when healthy.
