This is the quietest its been regarding trade rumors regarding the Habs pre-deadline since I can remember...........

What a nice change.

I'm convinced we do little to nothing tomorrow. This year has been an experiement that needs more time to evaluate considering all the injuries and time missed by multiple KEY players to the lineup.

I don't expect much from the Habs tomorrow (maybe D'Ago and Mara moved for picks) but I hope it will be a busy trade deadline day around the league...

I like Mara, but I think it's obvious he should be moved. And I think a contending team could use a good, solid crease-clearing defenseman like him.

I'd be ecstatic with a 2nd in 2010, but a 3rd would be alright too. We need a 3rd rounder anyways.

According to CKAC we have 2.2 million to play with. Corvo is 2.6, no need to move Spacek, just Mara.

I'd love to see MA Pouliot in MTL, but we got Moore so it means he was and is still off the radar.

This is a trade I would seriously consider.

To Philadelphia
Jaroslav Halak

To Montreal
1st Round Pick 2010
Daniel Carcillo

This isn't an unrealistic deal unlike some of the others that have been posted. Carcillo isn't just a goon. The guy can score (30 goals in the OHL and 21 in the AHL) and would be an instant fan favorite. Philadelphia's first round pick is a valuable asset in a deep draft that can be used to move up. This deal is a win-win for everybody.

(1)

Mara (or Gill?) for a 3rd round pick in 2010.

-----------

(2)

Browsing the list of rental/soon to be UFAs + the standings, the following players are "movable" and "interesting" imo:

Raffi Torres
Scott Walker
Colby Armstrong
Keith Tkachuk
Owen Nolan

D'Agostini + David Fischer + pick (Mara’s pick) for Raffi Torres?
D'Agostini + pick (Mara’s pick) for Owen Nolan?

In 2010, I would definitely not be comfortable with Price as the number one goalie... but imo this would be such an overpayment from a PHI’s perspective that I would do the deal anyhow!

Philly doesn't have a first because of the Pronger trade.

I'm told that if Habs decide to catch a big fish today, it might be Nathan Horton. 2 minutes ago via mobile web

Some serious salary would have to go back to the Panthers (as well as someone out of the current top 6).

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Kostitsyns go the other way. They really aren't Martin's type of players.

I know it's been beaten to death, but the only "major" deal I see is if a team makes an substantial offer for Halak. Some salary would move, but it would have to be something the Habs couldn't refuse.

So in short, nothing big happening today in Habsland.

I agree - although I wouldn't be surprised to see a bottom-6 type with some grit added to the mix.
