How in the world is Ryan Jones on waivers? He'd be a substantial upgrade on anyone the Canucks have on their fourth line and he's still big and physical enough to play the type of game Vigneault expects from his fourth line. Plus he makes less than $200k more than Hordichuk.
Not much truth there, probably just sensing we need a big centre...didn't say what he think is coming back.
Oh well, take it with a large grain of salt. At least it can spark a conversation about getting him from Florida.
Follow up on this, the canucks blogger Pete Tessier is saying he heard from a source from Manitoba that 2 players have been told they are going to get moved tomorrow and heading to Florida. Seidenberg is a guess at the target or Ballard. Read here...
Canucks need a defenceman, with Bieksa and Mitchell injured, and it's just a matter of time till Salo gets injured are D-Core could potentially look like this.
Edler-O'Brien
Ehrhoff-Rome
Baumer-Lukowich
Possible blue-line targets
Jan Hedja
Deniss Seidenberg
Dan Hamhuis
Pavel Kubina
He was the key piece Nashville got back for Zidlicky. He has good size, has scored 14 goals and 28 points in 87 NHL games, and averages about a hit and a half per game.

And who exactly is Peter Tessier and why should anyone believe a thing he has to say? Just curious.

Um why do the Panthers need Schneider?they have Markstrom.

Why would Florida want Schneider with Markstrom being reasonably close to the NHL? They aren't going to run with two goalie prospects are they?

Weird that this kind of collaborates Eklund's Horton thoughts...hmm. Maybe Seidenberg and Horton package for Schneider, Grabner and a 3rd?

I know everyone is all wet and moist over Seidenberg but I'm not sure if he's the optimal guy for us.
Horton on the other hand...
Horton would cost to much IMO,he would be a good addition but the Panthers would likely want Edler+ for him.Greg Campbell on the other hand would be a good 3 rd line addition.
Always liked Ballard on PHX. If we keep SOB and Bieksa, and add Ballard, that's a lot of grit theoretically back there. I think Mitchell will be back at some point. Then we still have Salo, Erhoff, and Edler...looking pretty good.
Maybe M Schneider, not Cory, going back the other way? With one of Grabner/Shiro.

The asking price for Horton wouldn't make it worth it IMO. He's finally starting to show some effort and consistency and I can't see the Panthers moving him cheap now. Sure he's a big forward that can score, but his size is basically useless as he rarely ever uses it.
