I'm surprised, and impressed. I like this deal a lot for Montreal.

Looks like we have another D'ago with some playmaking skills. I like it tho, 2nd rounder = more potential.

By the way, Palushaj played with Pacioretty at Michigan. Palushaj also made Caporusso (Ott prospect) overachieve while he was there. He's a good talent, and good at making teammates better.

Pros: Has a ****ng rocket of a shot, fast release, fast skater, straight up offensive player.

Cons: Has not much vision in the offensive zone, mediocre defensively.

He's lost complete confidence of his abilities right now,so he's not playing well at all. I hope he can find it with your team.

Yeah when Pac was on Michigan I'd always check his stats and Palushaj's were always similar even though he was younger and didn't play on the top line.

Frees up a roster spot and some salary while getting something in return. Not bad.

FAIL on RDS before they change it on the home page.

Le Canadien de Montréal a échangé l'attaquant Matt D'Agostini aux Blues de St.Louis en retour du défenseur Aaron Palushaj

This is great news just for the Pacioretty familiarity aspect of it. I think this gives the Bulldogs a real good shot at winning the Calder. Hopefully these guys can rekindle the chemistry (if they had any to begin with) they had in Michigan.

No, not at all. Palushaj is a real hockey talent. D'Agostini never had the sense to compete.

Palushaj has far more potential than D'Agostini in my opinion. Though, I never found D'Agostini to be terribly impressive other than a good release.

Anyway, they're vastly different talents. Palushaj has good sense offensively. He can help establish the offensive game for a team. He's solid with the puck and can distribute well. D'Agostini had his one move: try to beat the opposition to the outside. And it never worked. He had no creativity, nothing dynamic whatsoever about his game.

I believe we all are... the way dago was handled was brilliant... he was given time, and plenty of chances to shine....and now to see gauthier get a great prospect in return is just solid management imho. thumbs up on this one.

From what I've read he seems like a pretty decent prospect. Let's this works out as well for both teams like the Lats - Pouliot trade

Not surprised to see D'ago shipped out...His time with the Habs ran out...Never heard of this Palushaj guy before but since he is a little undersized he fits the Habs mode perfectly...

Is Mara the only Hab left that will be moved before 3:00?

D'Agostini is sort of a Michael Ryder, a bit better skater but takes too long to make a decision when handling the puck. Lacks heart and willingness to ameliorate his assets.. has a good shot when he's in the clear.

Well, I wouldn't go overboard and call Palushaj a great prospect. He's still a bit of a long shot. But he's actually got some potential to have some impact, unlike D'Agostini, so you've gotta like the deal.

Now for the important question...

Who has more potential, Palushaj or Caputi?

Did we get the same return for D'ago as the leafs did for Poni?
