I'm a Blues fan. I am sorry to see Palushaj go. He is a hard worker and has a nose for the goal. This was his first full year of pro hockey and he has a great pedigree playing for Michigan and the US National program. I'm dumbfounded why the Blues would do this. I really expected Palushaj to get bigger and stronger this summer after evaluating himself. I am hoping this is a precursor for your goalie Halak, but I'm not sure why they wouldn't just make the trade all at once. I think you will come out on the better side of this trade.

I knew D'Agostini had value but I'm surprised he got a decent prospect back. I like this trade. Good luck Dagger, I still think you'll turn into a decent 2nd liner.

For Blues fans: He's all speed and shot. Unfortunately he doesn't really do much else well yet.

Is Mara the only Hab left that will be moved before 3:00?
He's only one, barring some unforeseen circumstance, that i can see being moved. Honestly though, if we make the playoffs, i'd rather have Mara as my 7th D then Bergeron. I love Bergeron as my PP trigger man, but he'd be such a liability on defence. I like what i'm seeing from guys like Pyatt and Darche on the 4th line and don't want to see Bergeron taking their spot when he returns. If Bergeron were healthy i would have tried to deal him--pity he's hurt for so long.

My initial reaction was: wat

I always liked D'ago, but hopefully this is a good trade! Shajadellic looks to be sort of promising.

His profile is similar to D'Agostini but Palushaj is three years younger so... good trade?

thats basically what I meant in better words, thanks. Called him ''great'' because there seems to be optimism surounding him on the blues board ... and from what we can gather from michigan fans... he seemed better at university level than some well established nhler. My opinion on him is limited to what I heard, anything would have been fine for dago, but to hear the kid has a good chance to make it over here is great.

Well, here's to hoping Boucher can set him up to be great, and that he can add 15 pounds.
5'11 199 isn't too shabby.

actually hockey db has him at 6 feet, so he's not small, just needs to fill out a bit more and who knows, he may still have an inch or two left to grow.

The pros are D'Ago can skate and shoot at a high level.

The cons are he skates himself out of the play alot, is physically passive, and when he isn't scoring he isn't doing anything and is pretty much a negative.

In the right system and perfect world he could score 30.

If you guy's send us Backes we would he happy to send you Halak...

Seriously though I doubt either Price or Halak are moved beforwe the deadline... One of them may be moved this summer though...

It give us a decent prospect and more cap space if the habs want to make more move. All, for a player that was kind of useless for us.

IMO all it does is buy us extra time with another prospect of similar potential. I don't know the other guy well but I liked d'agostini and think he could easily be a 20 goal guy in the right circumstances. I wouldn't call it a sideways move or anything, because i'm surprised we got fair value for him but we didn't have to give him up for nothing. Still, good luck to d'ags, hope he regains his confidence.

Wow. This is a great trade for us. I love Palushaj`s potential. I have liked him since his WJC performance. I know he is undersized, but he is a slick forward with good passing skills. From the limited time I have seen, good wheels and drives to the net. Great deal.

GOOD JOB GAUTHIER.

Hope he can work some magic with Mara.

He is not so undersized in peoria wbsite they list him at 6'0 183 it is about the size of Mike Ribeiro if the guy can add 10-15 lbs he would be more average in the nhl.

perhaps Gauthier is more like the shady businessmen he look and can pull good move we will see.

Great trade. At this point, I would have been happy with a 4th or 5th, future considerations at worst. I don't know much about Palushaj, but he seems to have some good upside and judging by that it's already a win for us.

Good luck to D'ags, I hope he gets his game back in STL. Palushaj is probably gonna play with MaxPac in Hamilton to rekindle their days in Michigan, I'm sure he'll fit right in with the Dogs and I'll be looking forward to seeing him with the Habs in a year or two.

By the way, I'm actually entirely shocked that St-Louis did two things here:

1) gave up on Palushaj. I understand that he's still a medium to long shot type of player, given his attributes and limitations concerning the role he can play on a team, but actually giving up on a prospect is a rare move. Palushaj has less than stellar stats at the AHL level, but he started the season at 19-years old. And this is after excellent performances at the NCAA level. The fact that a strong scouting team in St-Louis has given up on him is peculiar, and begs the question why. This leads into the following point...

2) I'm shocked that D'Agostini carried any value whatsoever. I thought he might have some marginal value sufficient enough to be claimed on waivers by some middling team, but completely dismissed the notion that he'd carry any substantial value.

So I suppose the question is: did D'Agostini carry any value, or did St-Louis just give up on Palushaj altogether?

Or, more likely, was it a bit of both?
