A complete 180 on his opinion of the Leafs this offseason and during preseason.

I'd be interested in him... wonder what they'd be looking for in return? roster player? prospect? pick?

that 2nd we traded for Moore would have been WAY better spent on Bergenheim.

while he's struggled this year, and his overall development curve suffered a bit from bouncing back and forth between NA and Europe, he's got the potential to be a great 3rd liner...

good skater, decent scoring touch, plays with an edge... sort of like J.Ruutu but with more offensive talent/potential.

plus as an RFA coming off of a disappointing season, he's not due for a big raise so his cap hit would be minimal.

this is the kind of player/move I hope the team targets, aside from dumping a guy like spacek or gomez

Everyone thought they'd do good, because they seem to think pre-season = regular season.

Bergenheim is 5'10 and is a bottom 6 player. Not what we need in our bottom six. Pass.

He's a good player. Our bottom 6 is a little overloaded right now, but if we get rid of Metro/Sergei/Lapierre today, Bergenheim would be a nice fit.

That's a big if, but our priority in our bottom six is grit and size.

Not everyone is perfect and to do it in front of millions of viewers you'd need stones to do it. At least he's entertaining (except when drooling over the Leafs) so I do have respect for the guy for at least having an opinion and not riding the fence.
The reason I have no respect for him is because he gets all loud and beats his chest about something when he has no idea what he's talking about. His pointless and ignorant rants are often irresponsible. Often when he admits he's wrong and apologizes, the damage has already been done because a couple of million viewers think someone in his position must know what they're talking about. Again, I have zero respect for that blowhard.

Raffi Torres will require a 1st round pick.

CBJ's Raffi Torres is an interesting possibility for a number of teams but the asking price is a first-round pick.

Too much, Habs can't afford to give up a first.

Honestly if I had to bet about who gets traded today, Sergei and Lapierre would be the first 2 I would name. Eric Engels who's close to the team said the same thing, take that for what it's worth. If we get an offer of a 2nd for Metro or a decent prospect, might be hard to pass up.

Either way, Bergenheim brings grit and is a nice skater. He'd be nice on the bottom 6. He's not big, but I'd rather have a 5'10 Bergenheim than a 6'4 creampuff.

Fair enough, but I see him more as a source of entertainment then as a resource for information. He's a younger, less fanatical and ignorant version of Grapes. If you want thoughtful hockey information I'd look more to Bobby Mac, Dregger, Hodge, Farber etc. Mcguire is a colour commentator.

Just to further that point, Hodge just called out PM hahaha. "Leclaire is the best goalie Ottawa has ever had, we still remember you said that Pierre!" Hahaha priceless.

Then we better not even consider this. I'll be very pissed off if Gauthier gives up our 1st rounder.

Ha!ha!ha! The TSN Reporters just took a jab at Pierre McGuire for saying last year that Pascal Leclaire is the best goalie the Senators have ever had. McGuire's taking shots from everyone on TSN today for the thoughtless horse manure statements he has spewed out in the last year. Nice to him getting called on it on live national television!!

I would offer CBJ weber and a 3rd for Torres and that's a pretty steep price imo already, imagine a first, any team that gives up one is an idiot(watch it be us)
