Well considering the Red Wings have less cap space than the Canucks, then yea, Holland personally isn't interested in adding any salary. He doesn't speak for anyone but himself though.

I'll keep saying it. If I want to build a team I look at Pittsburgh.

I don't buy this thinking. After this season Henrik has four more years left on his deal, and likely the rest of his NHL career before he thinks about heading back to Sweden. In those four years it would be a great time for Hodgson to develop into a top 6 forward.

Seidenberg goes to the Bruins.

Good I didn't really want him to be honest.

Yeah I'm not keen on losing Hodgson. But, the Canucks are way past building a team like Pittsburgh. We're not starting over, we're pushing for a cup.

Besides, you do realize the Pittsburgh model is to suffer at the bottom for years and years as one of the worst, draft high so that all your stars are young and around the same age, then add vets. The Canucks are nothing like that. Edmonton however should follow the Pens model.

There are many others with similar cap constraints like the Red Wings.

I'll just add...if the Canucks move Hodgson, I will lose my damn mind. That would be beyond stupid unless he was demanding a trade and refusing to play for the organization.

Too bad Seidenberg is off the table. Hamhuis is still in play, and Keith Ballard could be an intriguing pick if Florida is not done dealing yet.

Yeah, but next year wouldn't you be 1000x more confident in a 1-2-3 of Henrik - Kesler - Hodgson than Henrik - Kesler - Wellwood.

The 1-2-3 of centers is what I meant in Pitts....

How is it even close....

That is the only way it makes sense.

I would (heart) Ballard.

I think we have to concede to the fact that Gillis' management team is most likely void of any leaks, which is on purpose.

George Macphee is a good example of someone who keeps his cards close to his vest around this time.

I think he meant that having three great centers isn't a problem, but a benefit.

True and Kesler is versatile enough to play the wing if needed. Still, don't be surprised if after the deadline we hear Hodgson was in play. Whether it's true or not is another matter, but I could see it being true if it involved a legit top D man. Right now, we need one.

zero chance Hodgson gets dealt.

Schneider to Blues... I'll be shocked if it doesn't happen today. (bp5)

Don't be surprised if schneider is dealt for less than people here expect. I bet he gets moved for mcclement.

I'd love Ballard too, as long as he doesn't smash Luongo in the head.

We could really use one of these defencemen being traded.
