This proves, your not paying attention.

That would be an excellent return for Schneider. McClement is excellent defensively and chips in with respectable offense from the bottom 6.

Sure, but if you're Hodgson how happy are you about that? How much longer will/can Pittsburgh keep their big 3?

I'd love to keep Hodgson too, I just wonder if that's the best move at this time. We're not that far now from being a legit contender with the right pieces in place.

Not really. There are four other teams Toronto, Pittsburgh(who have added two players making over $2M), Philly and San Jose who would be unable to add a $2M player at this time without moving salary. All the other teams would be able to.

I read a rumour somewhere this morning about Schnedier to Philly for Hartnell, but I don't imagine the Canucks would be too eager to take on that contract.

1. Hodgson is lucky to be playing hockey. Why does he have more say than Jordan Staal.

2. We've got Henrik till he stops playing in the NHL prolly. If we can lock up Kesler, we've got 3-4 years of that.

3. How many 1st round draft picks do we have to screw up.

Ooh, the plot thickens. But I'd find some way of classifying your rumor in a Bob McKenzie fashion, rather than an Eklund fashion.

Wonder what the draft pick was for Ward; even though Pogge's status as an NHL goaltender is "long shot" at best, that seems a pretty hefty price when you consider what Morris went for(4th in 11).

Also add that who says Hodgson has to be a center? Trevor Linden was equally good at playing both the RW and C positions for Vancouver. I think Hodgson could quite easily adapt to being a winger and playing in whatever situation will ensure him the best level of success, IMO. Also, doesn't he typically quarterback the PP from the blueline?

I believe whole heartedly that Hodgson is one of those pieces. He is going to develop. He just had a freak injury that he has recoveed from.

If you trade Hodgson, what do you get back? Would that player have a 7-10 year impact like Hodgson will?

4th Rounder (Carolina's).

I was, see my other post. It's a benefit but the question is, is it the best move now? BTW, I thought it was clear that I'm not necessarily supporting it, I was only trying to present/report their case for it. You know, this is also a thread about speculations, right?

As much as I love Hodgson. He could get really burned on the PP in the NHL with his speed. I know how smart he is, but thats one situation that scares me.

Honestly, I see Hodgson being able to play almost anywhere.

Not to mention that Kesler played wing last year.

It would be harder if he was a winger and we were stacked in that position, which we kind of are, but centers are easier to convert.

Somewhere along the lines, one of our prospects will be expendable, though.

You have to think we'll have the Sedins, Kesler, Raymond, Grabner, Hodgson, and Schroeder for awhile...and those are just guys in our system.

That's 7 relatively young guys who at their prime should all be top 6 guys. I can see one of them being moved, but I doubt it's Hodgson. More likely it's Grabner or Schroeder.

We're talking Mike Gillis here. He'll probably get Backes, Eller and MAYBE Pietrangelo.

Justin Pogge from World Junior Gold Medal goalie to trade bait.

...hard to think that this guy was the Leafs future goaltender.

I'd also agree the return for Schneider will not be that huge, not unless we add something else to the mix to sweeten the pot.

Sorry, your right, I jumped on ya.

I just meant, that I wasn't even considering moving Kesler to the wing to fit Hodgson into the line-up.
