agreed. if we are going to trade for ANOTHER defenseman at least let it be an offensive one.

aulie alzner

might be tolerable if we trade schenn for a very very good forward (giroux?)

Alzner + a 1st I would never do.

But if they make that CARLSSON + 1st Rounder, then suddenly I'm very tempted - although not overwhelmed.

1st + Hodgson or just Kesler is the deal I am dreaming of.

They have to do something. Its either going to be Sedin/Kesler or Sedin/Hodgson as their top 2 centers. Vancouver has to decide.

i really dont know if we can do better then that. if thats the best we can get we can always trade carlson at a later time.

That's why we have to wait until the draft to make that deal.

Kaberle has 1 more year left on his contract......Carlson + 1st would be more than enough

You really think so? Is that honestly a package you want in return for your last tradable player with any real value. The Kaberle deal if/when it happens is going to be a pivotal point for the franchise over the next decade or so imo. This needs to be a home run type of move and not just a move for the sake of making a move it should not be something that we learn to live with but rather a move that molds the future for the next 8 - 10 years.

He has 1 year left on his reasonable contract. We gotta do something, and we'll do better now than later.

That's easier to say than to do considering Kaberle has the power to nix any deal. Fans need to come to grips with the fact that he's not going anywhere today. It's just the way it is.

That's why the deal is off the table at the draft, if we know Kaberle won't play out there longer then a season, pretty sure the GMs do to, know way Kesler or Hodgson goes for the equivalent of a rental.

LeafsTV just reported that Kaberle confirms he would waive his NTC for the right deal. Interesting.

From this point on, Kaberle's value drops. This is the last chance we have to get any value, let alone great value.

Kaberle just acknowledged that he'd consider waiving no-trade if the right deal came along.

Kaberle doesn't make that acknowledgment unless he knows there's a deal in place. Something is happening....he finally sees the light.

oh ****.........kaberle spoke glowingly about Ovy's line in the Olympics. I think he'd go there for sure

I also think Fla because of the weather, mcCabe and cezch content

Well, know that other teams (possibly) know that Kabs is available, I expect a few deals to come in for Kaberle for Burkie to consider...
