We'll see how you feel about it when Tedster starts lighting it up in TB.

Yeah, Halpern has value but so does "Da Tedster".

We'll soon find out.

Cliche plays center, so does Moller, Richardson and Halpern...I would think Kings keep Moller since he is better a winger...Cliche is strictly a center.

And it's worth it. The Kings now have a fourth line instead of a bunch of leftover parts.
Indeed. Yesterday's fourth line was not good enough for the playoffs. Today's is.

We overpaid. But it's a over payment we can afford to make. Good trade still.

Face it people, to get what you want in life, and sometimes hockey, you may have to overpay. I'm ok with it. Purcell, essentially a nothing, is gone. So, a third rounder and a nothing gone for Halpern. I'm not going to cry. In fact, I think I'm happy.

Go KINGS GO!

I was hoping for the same thing...but Staios is signed for one more year beyond this season, and I'm not sure how much he has left in the tank. However, the guy was clutch in Edmonton's playoff run in '06...a shot-blocking machine. He's the type of player that becomes a lot more valuable in the post-season.

Cliche will get sent down, I hope we get Biron, Boyes or Colaiacovo, my gut feeling says DL is done though

Otherwise you guys are right, Halpern is a good pickup for a 3rd and Purcell.
On the other hand, Washington gave up a 2nd for Belanger.

Moller-Richardson-Simmonds
Clune-Cliche-Halpern

What you people are forgetting is that if Cliche or Moller gets sent down, that means Ivan or Harrold are on the 4th line.

How is

91GP--8 17 25
00GP--0 00 00

overpayment for:

704GP--131 183 314
024GP--006 006 012

with us about to go into the playoffs?

Purcell has nothing to do with this trade.

Halpern+Playoff experience for 1 of our 3 3rds. Leave it at that.

I wouldn't worry about that part until coaching starts to get cleaned up/figured out. We have an issue of massive underachievement in here in Tampa and its getting very problematic.

Def. a good trade for both sides, it really is. We get a guy that you didn't really have room for anymore and a pick, and you pick up a very good and very experienced forward in Halpern (who has played both C and W this season), who is excellent at the dot, can kill penalties, and is pretty hellbent on winning. Great influence on the kids in the locker room, too. Can't say enough about the guy. Hopefully he has a shot at a cup in LA.

That's fine. Good on him if he does. That's 18 he goals he simply wasn't going to score as a King.

Let Purcell succeed and score 30 goals... who cares?? we gave him a shot... he sucked... we have Schenn, Loktionov, Kozun who will have surpassed him...

I think people are saying send him down with the idea in mind that JW is coming back soonish...

Kinda hard to score when you're a healthy scratch. I think even Gretzky would have trouble scoring as a healthy scratch. YES, even Cammy!!!

Anyhoo, it's not a big deal and I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it. I think Halpern will be a great asset for the playoffs and in the locker room.
