Anyhoo, it's not a big deal and I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it. I think Halpern will be a great asset for the playoffs and in the locker room.
Purcell played 41 games this year and had 3 goals...

I agree with others regarding obtaining Staios.

I think we need another goaltender also. Biron. Roloson. Any other possibilities?

Admittedly I forgot about J-dub. However let's wait till he actually plays a few games and gets into form before we go sending down guys who are playing well.

And if one of Cliche or Moller goes, I thinks its Cliche.

With JW:

Smyth-Kop-Willie
Fro-Zus-Brown
Moller-Stoll-Simmonds
Richie-Halpern-Clune (THAT'S a 4th line)

Dwane Roloson would be a massive upgrade over Ersberg. I like Ersberg and all, and I think he's a fine backup, but what Roloson was doing in 2006 was a thing of beauty. A solid defensive defensman would be nice too. My heart would just stop if I see Randy Jones give up a bad turnover and have it be a goal in a tough playoff series.

We don't need a backup. If Quick can't play every playoff game for whatever reason, we're screwed.

Back-ups are for the regular season, and the closer we get to securing a playoff berth, the less I mind Iceberg spelling Quick for a few games at the end.

This song and dance has been played out on many occasions so, I'll just leave it at that.

Yes, Ted could score from just about any angle.

He had plenty of chances so I don't really know what you're getting at.

how can DL go by this deadline without acquiring a goalie? is he really satisfied with a Quick-Ersberg tandem? we need a veteran backup

If it weren't for that Olympic break and the fact that Quick is a spring chicken, I'd probably be more worried, but he's proven he can handle the massive workload. It's not really a big priority. Probably better suited for FA, I don't think they'll really re-sign Ersberg anyway.

Ersberg has another year on his deal.

Gonna have to strongly disagree with you here.

Backups are more important in the playoffs than they are in the regular season.

What's going to happen if Quick get injured or is struggling.

We can definitely use a backup.

A backup goalie rarely sees play. If we are so worried we can always bring up Bernier just in case. Not worth getting a back up.

Only time a back-up goalie see's time in the playoffs is if the starter is blowing the series and if Quick blows the series we are gonna be done anyways regardless of who the back up is.

I wanted Dvorak but I guess Halpern might be a even better option for the 4th line center spot and PK unit

Quick is a HUGE reason for our success. No Quick, no success. We aren't winning any playoff series without JQ.

Easily, in fact, very easily.

There really is no "tandem" There is Jonathon Quick. He holds the Kings records for most wins in a season. He has a significant chance to become the goalie with the most wins in a single NHL season. He basically plays every game now, and there is no "rotation" in the playoffs. We will ride JQ into and out of the playoffs, and his hand will or will not lead us to the promised land where we may drink from the Grail.

Exactly. Kings have the best goalie in the AHL. I can see him pulling a Cam Ward or Patrick Roy. Rookie goalies winning the Cup.

If we're a serious contender which I think we're aiming to be, then we should have a solid back up regardless of whether he sees any playtime or not.

And yes, without Quick as our starter we won't win any series especially if Eberg is our backup. That's why I was hoping for a veteran like Rolason.

I guess we could call up Bernier. Be ready Bernier! You may be seeing nhl action sooner than you think.

I really all these moves PHX is making screws up their chemistry. Trades galore outta them. Stepniak, Wolski, Morris...
