i think valiquette actually has a little better claim to the all-star game for the wolfpack than labarbera this year...labarbera has been pretty good but valiquette has been pretty lights out this entire year. and his numbers are best in the league
his value to the wolfpack is just that when labarbera has struggled a little, he's come in and played great and given the pack the goaltending to get back on their feet.
I do agree that Toivonen was snubbed the most. Unfortunately, Lehtonen took his spot. Tough to argue with Niittymaki (1.96, .923). On the other hand (I'm sure this comment is going to annoy a certain sabrefan), Toivonen's numbers are slightly better than Ryan Miller's (2.07, .932, vs 2.14, .931) while playing for a worse team.
Miller has the most wins in the league on a team that's struggling to score consistently and has a banged up defense. Sure, the Amerks are a better team, but the reason they're better is because of Ryan Miller. I'm not sure why that's so hard to understand. What's the point in bringing up goal differential when Miller's outstanding play is the reason the Amerks have a positive goal differential?
