I know this isn't from Hammond or the Kings but I just thought I'd post it.

Mods, if you need to change the prefix or anything, go ahead.

"He is now up in the big leagues", what? These guys claiming he's going to be in the NHL now? Thought DL wasn't going to rush him.

Would Schenn be able to play in Manchester next year or would he have to go back to JR's if he doesn't make the Kings?

Looks like he will be 19 this year, so its back to Juniors if he doesn't make the Kings.

Not too crazy about the amount of bonuses that got tagged on, $3.14M is a pretty significant cap hit.

I wouldn't trust Hendricks as a source, but since he just ripped it off of capgeek.com, which is reliable on these contracts, it's a done deal. That was up on Capgeek's Twitter last night.

Question? If the contract is 3+million but he is getting 900 thou a year the rest is bonuses. Does the 3mill count against the cap or the 900 thou and if so why do bonuses count. What if they don't meet them still 3 mill cap hit?

I sure hope not, unless Handzus or Stoll have been traded. He would be a waste as a 4th line center, especially if the report is true about a $3 million cap hit.

Also, his contract doesn't start until he plays 10 games in the NHL, right?

My understanding is salary and bonuses count against the cap.

Not that I doubt it, but I would like to see Hammond get some quotes from Lombardi on this.

It did say two way contract, so I wonder if he plays in Manchester at the end of this season, how many games can he play before the contract kicks in. One has to wonder about the source since they also say he's already up in the bigs. I'd wait to see Hammond or another reliable source post this news before we think too much about it.

Kind of surprised that Schenn got a bigger contract that Evander Kane did.

Brandon is hosting the Memorial Cup this year so Schenn's not going to Manchester this season. I'd assume this is why capgeek shows the contract does not go into effect until next season.

Capgeek has broken tons of contract signings, including Cam Ward's extension. It doesn't get any more reliable.

Also, Hammonds a bit of a joke. Trust me. He's not nearly as chummy with the players as he lets on. I've got lots of reliable info on here off of different guys long before it was ever broke by Hammond.
