Roy Halladay just stuck a guy out. As a Phillies. Wow.

In not even 2.5 innings the broadcast crew reminded me how much they annoy me.

Is Sarge back again this year?

I didn't see anything about him not being renewed or not coming back, so I'd assume he will be.

::sigh::

Following the passing of HK, I was really hoping they'd re-evaluate the broadcast crew and bring in some fresh blood.

Yep. Boy do I miss Harry.

I like what they were saying about Chooch talking to Charlie though.
Chooch: "Why are you batting me 9th?"
Charlie: "Well, where do you want me to bat you?!"
Chooch: "Uhhh, I don't know? 8th?"

It's funny that he just doesn't want to be the 9th hole hitter.

What I've noticed so far:
- Jimmy looks good. Even on pitches he misses, you can tell he knew it was a good or bad pitch

- John Mayberry Jr. looked good in his first at bat. Although he didn't get a hit, he was making contact on some pitches and they talked about how he is cutting down on strike outs.

- Halladay's pitches are unbelievable, even in his first game. I cannot believe some of the movement on his pitches.

- Polanco made a few good plays in the field, but had one high throw on a tough play. Looked good in the field and at the plate IMO.

- Jason Werth's beard is the most beautiful thing I've ever layed my eyes upon.

Pretty good line for Halladay so far

2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3K

As for the broadcast team, Jester I agree, although I find Sarge to be entertaining (in small doses).

At first I ****ing hated Sarge's guts, but he's grown on me. He actually lends an insight from a players point of view to the broadcast.

lol@Kendrick being in love with Halladay. I heard about him trying to follow everything he does (including coming early and such), but I didn't know he also wanted to look like him.

Kendrick looks good. No, he literally looks good. He's grown out a Halladay style beard and looks like he's ready to move into the 5th spot in the lineup.

The problem with Sarge is that he clearly memorizes a set of talking points about each team, and if you watch enough games he's so damn repetitive that it gets really irritating. I would agree that he does offer some insight, but it's insightful the first time...and repetitive in each subsequent game (obviously you have to allow for some viewers that don't watch each game, but ugh...).

Not sure who my favorite new Phillie is. Halladay, Polanco or Werths beard.

The hats with the stupid lines on them. Sort of like this:

Why not just stick with the classics:

They're the batting practice hats, just like they're wearing the batting practice jersey's. It's what they do in spring training.

I have the batting practice hate with the blue "P", but not the blue lines around the ear. it is a few years old.

Personally, I have the New Era fitted 08 World Series hat, and both the Blue and Red "Stars and Stripes" hats from the 4th of July the past two years.

In order to get the proper bend on them, I have to get size 8 though. My head is huge.

Flat-brimmers need a punch in the face.
