Ok, Preds get forward Dustin Boyd from Calgary for a 4th rounder per TSN trade tracker.

Age 23, 6'0" 198 lbs

EDIT: Contractually: making 650,000 this year and is an RFA next year. (Is Poile Draft pick hunting?)

Averages 12:14 minutes a game, 1:05 Minutes of SH time, 0:32 of PP

I like it!

Still young, Flames fans believe he could be a second liner eventually if given the opportunity, and great wheels. I seem to recall him killing penalties, which would be a big help for us.

He is a good player, you guys will like him. Good speed, shot, works hard, is willing to get physical despite his frame. Good on the PK. If you give him top 6 time he will produce. Calgary fans are not happy about this.

I like this move. I like both moves David Poile made in the trade department.

We now have our 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th right? We traded our 2nd/4th/6th? Or did we trade our 5th?

Nashville still has their first.

2nd went for Grebs

5th to Carolina for the Darcy Hordichuk deal.

Tampa Bay's 5th to Nashville for the 2009 5th pick

6th is still Nashville's

Really pleased about Grebeshkov, Boyd is a utility, Predators type player. Sees Colin Wilson as the big add for the team. Really pleased with goal and Defense. Needs the top forwards to play like top forwards. Compares Boyd to Vernon Fiddler and Smithson.

Edit: Jones didn't live up to expectations. Didn't think Jones was a big loss. Recovered with Boyd. Got a lot of action with Hamhuis. Would like to sign Hamhuis but might not be able to. VERY happy with the team. Felt a Hamhuis trade would jeopardize a playoff position. The parity of the league prevented the number of blockbusters to be higher. Was surprised to make a deal with Calgary. Not a lot of sellers. Plaster stated that Hamhuis wants to be the highest paid player on the Preds. Poile denied that and said Hamhuis is asking for a reasonable salary. Nashville might not be able to afford it. Winning will create more revenue. Sounds like if Nashville succeeds in the playoffs they MIGHT be able to keep Hamhuis.

Sulzer and Franson to Milwaukee.

I think Boyd's offensive upside blows away anything Smithers or Fids could touch.

BFC nailed it.

In his comparison of Boyd to Fiddler and Smithson, he emphasized the high energy, hard working aspects of his game.
And I also think he has more offensive upside.

DP also answered the question I had, saying Boyd can pretty much play any forward position in any situation.

For a 4th this was a no brainer the potential is there now can he survive the Trotz mantra. Look at it this way though Poile gives up a 4th for him and Caps traded a 7th for Scott (the sell out) Walker.

He played a lot of games on the fourth line with Prust and McGrattan, so he didn't really have linemates a lot of the time.

I'm okay with the deal, but I was disappointed after seeing TSN report that we were getting Boyd AND a fourth round pick.

You guys will love Boyd, he would fit into the Pred system pretty well I think since he works hard. Has a good skillset and good speed but is a little on the small side but still drives the net and has excellent hockey sense.

I miss him already

Can't believe you guys got him for a 4th.

I think I like this trade also. We didn't make a huge splash this year, such as a Poni. But I think we got couple steals. And we kept the Hammer, hellz yes! I'm excited about the playoffs! Go Preds!

you know this immigration paperwork thing is kind of weird.......just think, Greb (who I assume is still a Russian national).............cleared in less than 24 hours....
