I feel like we're stocking up the AHL roster because we're going to move some players from the Phantoms.

...I hope.

I hope I'm not the only one who read the title and thought we had signed a player named 'Everett F. Shane Harper'.

Question

Would someone mind explaining how the $$ part works with these contracts?

Shane Harper info

Im a STH for the Everett Silvertips and have watched Harper since his rookie season in the WHL.

He started out as a 3rd/4th line guy playing in the shadow of Zach Hamill (now plays for Providence) and Peter Mueller. Once they left he blossomed into one of the better stick handlers in the league. He's got speed and a fairly accurate shot. He has a tendency to turn over the puck with ill-advised passes but he is exciting to watch. There is video out there of an OT goal he scored where he took the caroom off a faceoff, toe-dragged the puck past a defensemen pulling the goalie to his right then shooting the puck into the upper left corner of the net.

He's the Silvertips all-time leader in games played, goals, and just set the team record for goals in a season last night with 39. He's also durable. The last game he missed was a healthy scratch at the beginning of the season 2 years ago.

Thanks - for those of us who haven't seen him play, it's great to have a first hand opinion!

Shane is the man and a great guy. I played with him in Valencia since I was about five years old. Great kid, Philly fans are gonna love him

The contracts do not affect this current season. The 2010-11 salary cap is listed on www.Capgeek.com, as a reference listed here -- http://www.capgeek.com/cap_calculator.php?Team=24
