Malone

Now that Parrish and Turcell are in town.

What is Malone's new role? Is he still a top six frwd with 1PP time or is he now taking on new roles left behind by halpern?
It seems he is not being used as he was during the first half of the season?

He needs to be in the top six, Tocchet has been stuffing him with grinders to no avail.

He's been having a hard time since being taken off the Stamkos-St. Louis line. For him to do his thing and work around the net, screen shots, get the tips and deflections, get the garbage goals, rebounds, and wraparound chances, he needs his line mates to get the puck to the net, which has been a problem.

Purcell + Vinny provided some offensive threats last night, one game doesn't tell you everything but i think Purcell looks more comfortable wrangling the puck and finding the open trailing guy to create shots than tanguay has all season....this should open up the ice for malone i hope. tanguay needs to go down to the 3rd line and adjust his game. he's hasn't played like a skill player all year, so he shouldn't get skill player minutes.

i'm holding out hope for purcell-vinny-malone, leaving something along the lines of tanguay-thompson-parrish and veilleux-konopka-fedoruk\AHLer to fill out the bottom 6

Malone should deffinately play in the top 6 to get full production out of him. At this point he's clearly better than Tanguay. The problem with Tanguay not scoring is that if he ain't scoring he's basically useless. He's a good PP guy though but it's a hard first unit to crack.

+1 A forward line consists of three players not just two. I think Vinny and Malone would make quite a threat if they could get a playmaker on this line that also likes to shoot. If Tanguay gets a penalty shot I still expect him to pass. Other than St. Louis this team doesnt really have any playmakers.

Here's another guy that should be on the top 6 instead of buried on a checking line. He's a front-of-the-net, bang it in, Phil Esposito kind of a guy. He does NOT belong on a checking line! When is this coaching staff going to clue in? Do they not watch game film?

And then they wonder why the fans are frustrated and there's empty seats.... Maybe the coaching staff needs to sit in the box a few games and observe because THE FANS SEE MORE THAN THEY DO!
