Which essentially means that there is swelling or an MRI needed and they have no clue what the true extent of the injury is until they have their doctors look at it...

Well, it wouldn't be the stretch run of a hockey season if key Predators didn't start dropping. At least we know the universe is still in alignment.

Daunic was saying the tweets indicate possibly a hand injury? Man, I hope it's not a break. Although a ligament or something could be worse. I was hoping this would be the year our team would have a little luck on the injury front heading to the playoffs. Silly me.

Yeah, Glennon was reporting on his Twitter that it was a left hand or arm injury...

Weber out against Vancouver. Franson was recalled last night and practiced with the team this morning. Still no timetable on Weber...as Glennon wrote, that worries me based on past precedent...

Well this really sucks... right when we needed him the most. I'm glad Cody is recalled but I hope Weber can play on Tuesday.

I'm gonna guess...

Suter - Bouillon
Hamhuis - Grebeshkov
Franson - Klein

I really have no idea...with Klein playing without any confidence the pairings are a nightmare at best...

Brad Lukowich, recently of the Canucks, was sitting in my section in Cedar Park tonight. Assigned to Manitoba, injured, not looking like he'll see the ice again this season.

Well its a damn good thing that we picked up Grebs and kept Hamhuis,
Imagine Weber went down and we didnt have Grebs and traded Hamhuis...

Suter Klein
Bouillon Franson
Sulzer Laakso

Ugghh!!

You guys are crazy. It's going to be:

Suter/Grebs
Hamhuis/Klein
Bouillon/Franson

Trotz won't break up the Hammer/Klein pairing until one of them leaves the team, retires, gets hurt, or dies.

He actually did split them up the other night. We'll see if it carries over.

Ah. Maybe he just splits them up when I'm not watching to mess with me.

I liked the Suter/Hamhuis and Klein/Bouillon pairing today. If that was kept, when Weber comes back he'd replace Franson and so we'd have Weber/Grebeshkov. Even if Trotz wanted to keep the power duo together I think Hamhuis/Grebeshkov could work and then roll with the Klein/Bouillon pair. I hope having Weber out of the picture for a couple days helps Trotz to see the different possible defensive pairings.

herein lies the problem with that:

in edmonton, grebs was forced into a top pair role, which he isn't suited for. if he was paired with weber, he again has a bulllsye on him and his pair. some guys thrive under that pressure, he is not one of them. second, paired with weber limits weber jumping into the play because it is fairly obvious grebs does the same thing and unless you like breakaway goals on a regular basis, you don't pair them. that is what is great about suter. he is smart to know when to go, when to stay. personally, i would like to see weber suter in the 27-30 min range, hamhuis grebs in the 21-23 min range and klein-boulion in the 17-19 range

I'll be honest. I have no inside knowledge here, but I have to imagine it is a joint injury (wrist/finger/elbow) that Shea "jammed" on Thursday, then tried to play through Friday before re-injuring the area.

At this point, to avoid a real long-term setback, I'm guessing Shea will probably miss at least a week to let the injury heal to a point where it will not suffer further damage. We can only hope a week is the longest he's out...

This day-to-day (doubtful) stuff is simply a sign that the team really has no idea on the status of the injury until it heals on it's own schedule. The best course of action is to shut him down for the time being if they can't protect it. A player playing with an injury on his mind is a player that's likely to play tentatively and possibly get injured worse...

Weber will skate on his own this afternoon in San Jose, but remains questionable for the game tomorrow...

I hope he stays out tomorrow and comes back on Friday. Another night to rest up should do him some good. Plus we need a fully healthy defenseman out there. Even if Franson/Sulzer isn't as good as a healthy Weber, they'll be better than an injured Weber.
