In honor of Bob Miller and a **** you to Jim Fox's heritage, I bring you the top 10 reasons French Canada sucks. Click on the link for more.

Quote:
10. Their English sucks and their French is inferior.

9. If there was a great bear uprising, they would immediately surrender and side with the bears.

8. Their hottest women are American and European tourists.

7. They think that charging 30% more for everything makes them cool.

6. Montreal Expos. Embarrassing.

I don't remember him missing a game since he started, in the early '70s. But of course he must have, otherwise we would be hearing about what an ironman he is in the broadcast booth, a la Chick Hearn.

Probably became ill after having to endure the Nashville game. Get well soon Bob, you are the best.

Why didn't they just have Nick do the PBP with Jim and Daryl doing commentary?

Then who is going to do PBP on radio? It's much easier to do TV.

I was thinking a simulcast....they used to do it back in the day when the team was Bob and Nick (Nick doing color).

... Unacceptable. Bob is immortal. It is impossible that he would not be calling the game -_- I don't even want play-by-play commentary if Bob isn't doing it. They really need to implement a mute for commentators and allow us to just watch it with stadium sound. I know what is happening and who is who anyway...

Just mute the TV and turn up the radio. Works for Kings-Ducks games when Ahlers and Hayward are calling it

I don't even want to listen to Nick, even though I like him, I just wish that you had the ability to mute the moronic play-by-play announcers in sporting events that you watch on T.V. and just revert to stadium noise as if you were at the game.

Fox's biggest problem (other than his hyperactivity, but I think that's to be expected) so far is that he's calling the game as an analyst. You can hear from his descriptions sometimes that he's thinking about what the play will lead to, or why the play has happened. A play by play guy needs to be always living in the moment and describing what IS happening, even when it isn't interesting to analyze. If Fox would spend more time talking about the relatively mundane things that happen, there wouldn't be all those little silences that make his calls sound so hyperbolic. He just needs to smooth himself out a bit and he'll be okay.

I think it's best that he just sticks with going half and half. It's not like this is a long-term issue, it's just one game so just go with what's comfortable.

my favorite moment was right before montreal opened the scoring, they had a flurry of chances on quick and jim pretty much panicked and said, "SHOT SAVE SHOT SAVE!!!" it was the most entertaining goal the kings have given up this year.

Foxy was much better and more listenable then I expected him to be. Still, Bob can't come back soon enough. I was really happy with Daryl Evans work. His suit...not so much! He must have woken up yesterday to a vm and thought "oh crap! I'm going to be on TV !?!?." I bet he spent the day running around to the tailor, the barber, etc to get ready.

I hope this isn't a clue of what they plan to do when Bob retires. I really think it has to be Nick doing the pbp on the tv.

Shingles is like the chicken pox for adults right? Only it's supposed to be worse?

Anyways, at least Jim Fox is off the hook. It was funny to listen to for one game, but one game was enough.
