That was also back in August of 2009. Things have changed quite drastically since then. Please provide articles that contain the newest information, not re-post something from 7 months ago before the season began.
To stay in Glendale for '10-'11 (absent a deal with IEH) would require the league modify their APA to extend their 1 yr sublease on the AMULA (the Glendale Lease) which expires on June 30, and get it approved by Moyes, creditors, and Judge Baum.
15K at the MTS Centre beats 11,296 at Jobing.Com....size of the arena in this case doesn't matter, only bottom line....
Is Glendale willing to pony up $20-30M per year to keep the Coyotes? In this economy?
It also beats the Devils, Hurricanes, Predators, Avalanche, Thrashers, and Islanders. What's your point? Should all of these teams be relocated too? What about next year? Should the bottom 5 teams in attendance be relocated as well? What about the year after that? Do you see how flawed your argument and logic are now?
EDIT: In a way, it's a red herring argument. Attendance numbers have nothing to do with the success of a sports team. Look at the Maple Leafs...

W-T-F?
The OP posted outdated comments as if they were stated recently. It's a straw man argument. The comments can be taken out of context if read by someone unfamiliar with the court case.

Just as I thought! This thread was going to attract the trolls and hacks from up north that should be placed on everyone's ignore list.
The truth is this is just another rumor and all of us will know what happens when something official from the NHL is released.
Until then let's move on and be gone with this hockey elitist garbage! Posted via Mobile Device

Actually, he did no such thing - unless you can construe "Back during the court proceedings, Daly had this to say" as having been stated "recently".
I sure don't recall following any play-by-play twitter feeds from Judge Baum's courtroom "recently".
And not much has "changed quite drastically since then" - other than the IEH LoI, which was telegraphed from the time the NHL made it's offer to buy the franchise. And that LoI was signed and it's 30 day period of exclusivity has expired. The league is free to negotiate on Plans B, C, and D - having, barring undisclosed acts of provable bad faith, met the "commercially reasonable effort" requirements of their APA.
The league has been up front with it's intentions all along - it prefers keeping the team in Glendale, but if that is not possible, then it will control how and where it relocates.
And I don't get the WTF about the lease agreement - it's pretty common knowledge - and a significant potential impediment to the team operating in Glendale next season without a new owner and lease agreement with CoG.
I don't really believe it but, like everyone else, until Ice Edge or someone else signs on the dotted line I am concerned.
Nice to see someone local mention it though this whole drama is probably just playing into the bloggers hands anyway. It wanted hits and now it's getting them.

The downside of the blogosphere rears its ugly head again. That wouldn't pass as a Grade 6 assignment, let alone a reliable source of insider information.
As a fan of a division rival I have to say that I feel bad for you Yotes fans. All the support you guys and gals have given them over the years only to have to put up with this **** every year.
1) This was shot down by parties on both sides of the ball.
2) Don't lump muck rakers like this one with everyone on that site. There are legitimate reporters on Hockeycrap.com (Andy Strickland is one).
3) Eklund's nuts should be roasting in an open flame over this.(E5)

He should find a more reputable place to hang his hat then. That site is garbage!
Just talked to another source- Ice edge is not going to happen. There are issues and some key folks within the NHL doubt their business model which IMO they should.
Yeah, because I'm sure the NHL would drag Ice Edge along this far only to deem their business model unsuitable.
I asked my rep about renewals last week and he said they are having to hold off for now because of the ownership situation, but the hope was the push would start at the end of this month when playoff tickets are mailed out.

I'm not a hack and trying not to be a troll (Kings fan), but this thread did attract me. You should just lock it and focus on the playoff race.
I talked with Doug Moss over his private email, and this is what was said:

Subject: Hey Doug, it's Kenny (the one always with Henry at the games) quick question.
Hey Doug, You and I have exchanged emails before, and I really appreciate your willingness to keep in touch with the fans. Being apart of an online Coyotes fan board, your duties do not go without notice, we all would like to thank you. On a personal note, I hope all is well.
With the team winning, and possibly our best team for many years, it feels good to actually have faith in Arizona hockey. I guess my question to you is something every Coyotes fan on our fan board is concerned about. We read an article that promises that the Coyotes are going back to Winnipeg, of course none of us know the validity of the article, but it's kind of scary and disheartening. Especially when the arena is finally filling up with these fans that may not be that determined to go now due to reading something like that. Have you heard anything like this? We don't ask for vital details that you're not allowed to share, we just don't know what we should believe, especially since talks with Ice Edge have strangely silenced. If you could respond with whatever you can say, it would help.
Thank you very much.
Kenny
His Response:

As far as I know there is no truth to the rumor, Kenny…
All efforts are focused on closing the deal in Glendale.
Best wishes
Doug
Short and sweet but it is convincing enough for me. I hope this settles the feelings of some of the Coyote fans, because it does mine. Out of respect for Doug, I would hope we can kind of keep this email between us and the board due to the fact that it was a private email. Thank you.
The Phoenix Coyotes will be moving to Kansas City. The NHL has apparently brokered a deal for the Coyotes to move to Kansas City. This is the crazy one. How did this happen with the iron clad lease and the wonderful relationship with the City of Glendale?
Can't follow along? I've been disproving this moron blogger in my posts, and someone managed to point out this isn't the first time he has made such radical claims. Hence the date.

No i can follow along, all I was trying to do was refer you to somewhat good news rather than all the crap we've been reading. I think you took my point in a different way that I had intended you to, I was offering some clarity on the situation.
