How the heck does Feaster take a team to the cup and not have a GM job yet....?

So what? Does that have a smithereen to do with any of the players involved?

Sure it does. I don't think it's the end of the world and that once these players fit in, the Kings will be that much better. But it's obvious the entire team has been out of sync and without chemistry since the trades took place. Put two and two together here.

Wins and losses are the only smithereens that matter.

Really so if Moller and Cliche were in the line up and Teddy Purcell was in the press box you believe there would be a different outcome? The whole team was out of sync in the last game and appeared to barely be trying in Nashville. I think it is more of a coincidence if anything.

Hey I just realized that Modin has already done more than Anson Carter did in his time in LA!

Only in that DL did not address what we really needed which was a 3-4 Defensemen.
Morris or Seidenberg would have been upgrade. Or as many people here who wanted Hamhuis. A 2nd and a prospect probably does it. I think we could have afforded giving up a 2nd and take the risk of him going free agent after this year. Though I think we could have signed him.

As for the pick ups I think we got slower, older, and not necessarily better.

2010-2011 would look like this.
Doughty
Johnson
Hamhuis
Greene
Scuderi
Hickey, Voynov, Drewiske, or Martinez.

Why would Nashville, who is in a playoff hunt, ship Hamhuis to a Conference rival? Doesn't make sense and I doubt Nashville was even close to trading Hamhuis anywhere. Had it involved a 2nd and a prospect, a deal would have been done.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news here guys, but consider the source. Feaster has a man-crush on both Halpern (he traded for him in TB did he not?) and Modin (dating back to TB's Stanley Cup run). I think both guys will be contributors in the playoffs, but both are well north of their primes and oft-injured. I like both deals honestly, IF they can stay healthy, but I'd say Washington made the biggest splash. Phoenix certainly had quantity... but not necessarily quality.

I read that Morris told Boston he would only waive his no-trade clause to go back to Phoenix.

Am I the only one that is not thoroughly infatuated with Hamhuis?

DL addressed this directly at the Breakfast with the GM meeting. Hamhuis was NOT available. Nashville wasn't a seller. They're fighting for a playoff spot.

I'm sure he is a nice player but I think that people around here see a name and they get infatuated with it. I remember when everyone was convinced that Cammalleri was going to be traded for Suter or Weber. Then it was Gaborik who was going to sign with the Kings. Now it seems to be Kovalchuk and Hamhuis. I don't get the fixation with individual players. There are more than those two out there that can help this team and it is more than likely that neither of those two wear Kings jerseys. I certainly wouldn't complain if they did but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I agree with Ziggy. If Hamhuis was available at all, he would have been traded and most certainly for the cost of a 2nd rounder and a prospect. Derek Morris only waived his NTC for a trade to Phoenix and I guess Seidenberg was too rich for DL (I think he went for a 2nd round +).

I don't know how anyone can complain about the deadline. We gave up pretty much nothing. And before anyone gets on their Teddy Purcell soapbox, much like Quincey who was acquired through a waiver wire pick up, Purcell was signed as a free agent and wasn't working out in LA. Combine him with the 3rd and 7th rounder that were traded, the Kings gave up almost nothing all things considered. We also aren't forced to play rookies and inexperience on the 4th line with exception to Parse.

What a spineless article!!!!!! The kings are playing for the stanley cup and are good enough to win it. chances are they wont.....but.....im sure everyone in the locker room feels that they at least have a chance. Anything less WILL be a disappointment to everyone in the organization including every single true King's fan!!!

I was listening to HNIC radio the other day and they said if you were asking for hamhuis, the asking price was a first plus.

Enough with the Hamhuis talk already. Nashville is still in the playoff hunt, and the word on the street is that they were asking for the moon from teams who tried to trade for him.

Modin is playing exactly how I hoped he would, and with Zus, a pair I've envisoner for a while. Put Frolov with them and you have your a ridiculously good playoff checking line than can score in droves. When Williams comes back you drop Brown with Stoll and Richie for a nice skill/speed/energy combo line and Simmonds with Halpern and Clune makes for a devastating energy line that will pot goals. Oh, it makes me giddy.

I demand credit for Modin, and monthly subscriptions to view my posts.

Oh, and, **** Hamuis. We need a defenseman, yes, but Hamuis means nothing.

Modin is fitting right in. DL is looking like a genius for that one.
