A nothing team with no tradition and high draft picks as a reward for crappiness
see Stamkos, Hedman
And for that I hope they finish 9th for a change. They're always either in the playoffs or picking top 5. Wish we could get that going but it's a different expectation level and environment up in Habland.
Important win..Noticed in the schedule there a Flyers/Bruins game after tomorrow and our game vs the bruins will be huge..but can't still can't underestimate the Oilers..I believe they beat us last time out
Yeah in Edmonton though, a place where we've got 1 win since 2000 and it was the Heritage Classic (this includes a game where we blew a 6-3 lead and lost in regulation, one where we had our infamous team bonding bowling game and got *****, etc.). We've beaten Edmonton in three straight at home though, including last year in OT (Sakuuuuuuu).
NO ONE IS TURNING THEIR HEAD AWAY. All the majority of us so called "Halak haters" are TRYING to do here is point out the stupidity of those who want to chase Price out of town.
Argue all you want, but we all know how most of the anti-Price fans would've been ALL OVER HIM for that goal. "I don't care if it was 5-2 at that point, it was a bad goal and because of it they could've tied the game." I personally could give a **** and am with you when you say that the game was over at that point. Halak played well enough to get us a win tonight, and that's all that matters. I would NEVER be criticizing him for letting in a goal like that late in the period. It matters for **** ALL. So why do so many here still have the urge to do it for Price?
Some of you are so pathetic, it's amazing. This place of full of... well I'll stop there before I get another retarded infraction for posting a senseful argument.
I agree with you ... but I think its more the inconsistency than the ''bad goals'' as far as my assessment of price is concerned. He can look out of place in the 1rst period, then display a veniza performance in the very same game... halak has nights off... where he looks lost ... but when he plays this year, you know what you are going to get for 60 minutes ... but thats just my honest opinion.
Gomez had a great game, so did Pouls and Gio for that matter. Can't wait till the AKost - Pleks - Cammy line is back!
Why isn't anybody mentioning that bad goal against Halak in the last minute? It was ultimately not dangerous but it was as soft as softies get.
You answered your own question. He made the big saves when necessary. Also keep in mind that the puck was backhanded, and it was rolling with Josh Gorges blade in front of the puck so it wasn't as easy to stop as you would think.
During the extreme low points of our season (keep in mind I'm a pretty bad pessimist so this will inevitably be very disagreeable) I almost didn't want to make the playoffs since we were going to get swept in the first round anyway, and not get a good draft pick. If we sucked, we'd get a good one.
I didn't actually want us to tank, but I can't honestly deny that I didn't think about how it worked out at times.
How the hell are we gonna keep pouliot with teh current cap situation??
I believe that he will get a short term contract (1 - 2 yeards) at a lower cap hit in order to fit under the cap. By the time his next contract expires, Hamrlik, Gill, Spacek would all be off the books, which would add a considerable amount of cap space if I am not mistaken.
