NA vs. European teams

USA - SUI 3 - 1
CAN - NOR 8 - 0
USA - NOR 6 - 1
SUI - CAN 2 - 3
CAN - GER 8 - 2
USA - SUI 2 - 0
RUS - CAN 3 - 7
USA - FIN 6 - 1
CAN - SVK 3 - 2

Some observations:

Most games were blowouts. Only 4 games were close, 3 of them was against the Swiss team. I thought that's kinda odd, since teams like Russia and Finland are better than Switzerland. Is it because the played a more offensive game and got burned?

Bad coaching?

The Swiss play a tenacious, fairly defensive-minded game and have very good goaltending.

At the same time, there's an inclination to underestimate them, despite the scares they've put into opponents, given that they are not traditionally a powerhouse.

A combination of the above I think.
