Good stuff, the win in Anaheim is what propelled them to believe they are a playoff team

I was at the game. I'll just say this...Stamkos is unreal. He's got the skills of vinny with the speed of st louis. His skating is incredible. Next year TB will be a playoff team, no doubt.

They have guys like st louis, downie, lecavalier(who hasn't been scoring much after surgery, but will get his strenght back over summer), stamkos, malone, tanguay(if they keep him), purcell. Then on defence, foster, hedman(now in his rookie year), meszaros(who will pick up eventually), ohlund and in general, a young d-core.

They will be a team to watch next year...just hopefully not this year.

I can't believe they're tanking without first pick. What suckasses. Good for Crapolina at least and their pride.

Best possible result this year? Laffs finish 9th. The last thing we want is Laffs losses. Get with it man.
Calm down. Go and reread. You're both saying the same thing.

Furthermore, they finally seem to have a reasonable owner.

How long does Lecavalier need to recover from surgery? That was what, 18 months ago?

Stamkos has superseded Lecavalier as the Lightning's main offensive threat. Not only that, but he's younger, healthier, and less expensive. However, he won't always be less expensive and as the years go by Lecavalier's contract will become burdensome. And so it goes.

Glad the boys came out strong and took it to the Lightning at home in a tough playoff race as it seems Tampa always brings it in Montreal for obvious reasons. Darche, Spacek, Metro, Moen, Moore, Benpoo, Gionta and Markov all with solid games. The Kosty's didn't have much to show but I feel they are on the verge of breaking out, which would be huge for this team.

Is anyone still upset over the 2011 2nd rounder we gave up for Moore? I have liked the trade since day 1 as I have seen first hand in Toronto how good he can be. He is playing like the perfect 3rd line centre that every good playoff team needs and has elevated the play of his linemates.

Also I am glad Pleks is OK, I was going to have a heart attack when I saw that hit. Once Cammel toe gets back this team is going to make a run, book it.
I too have been pleasantly surprised by the play of Moore... and I hope Gomez can keep playing the way he is now...

Actually, he had wrist surgery in april 2009. Considering that much, I don't know how much training you can do over a summer. I say his wrist isn't at full strenght. He's on pace for 22 goals, only twice in his career has he had less than that. One of which was his rookie year so, it's in the #s too.

I never think of Spacek's contract when criticising. Yesterday he was pretty effective, kept it simple. Most nights he looks impossibly bad - with the benefit of the doubt for playing on the wrong side. Top 4 on a 13th or 14th placed team I could see.

On a roll now, confidence sky-high, keep it up boys and we'll be in the playoffs with room to spare - and avoiding the Caps.
