Excuse me? If you are a first round NHL pick, you are ready for the AHL at nineteen, at the very least in a safer 3rd line role. If you are not, you ain't gonna be much, and you are certainly not going to be the Habs second or first line center at 24, or ever.
This is a relatively high first round pick for us for god's sake, I expect results, and constant improvement, and soon. If Leblanc is not a regular number 2 or 3 center on the Habs in three years, then FAIL.
I've had enough of our first round fails, haven't you? If Leblanc is a bust , Timmin's head should roll, instantly.
Get him in the AHL now, put him under pressure, and develop him.
I bet that the Vancouver Canucks felt that way when they traded Cam Neely. EPIC FAIL, as trendy people would say.
hes not there for the hockey program, and who has the maturity at 18-19 to make sacrifices for the future? i rather have diploma from harvard then do commercials for some porno related energy drink on the internet. not a question of maturity, question of wiseness.
As I said, getting to the American system was a good decision, getting at Harvard was bad.
If he really wanted to go at Harvard by himself (and not fullfilling a dream of papa and mama), then he can leave whenever he want's starting now since he can get back there after is hockey career.
Focus should be placed on hockey. That's all.
You don't need a PhD to be a genitor. You don't need a diploma to play hockey... but you need to play hockey to play hockey. I hope his development won't be delayed because of that decision, and hope he will do something with its Harvard diploma once he get out of school.
