Boy, this turned into a Halak/Price debate pretty damn quickly!

I hereby resolve to NEVER even mention either goalie in a post again. (Quite frankly, the debate ruins the thread. As WIRED would so, it's so tired.)

Should change the PGT tittle to Habs bail out Halak......Man he was awful tonight!

It was bound to happen, thankfully it was against Edmonton and Montreal was able to pot 4 and get the win.

Was like watching a junior hockey game, pretty bad on both teams, players out of position and blowing passes.

Not too worried since the Habs are a team that usually match their level of opposition (witness their terrible record vs SE div over the years).

the problem stems from people ignorantly believing that shootouts are the same as a breakaway. They are not the same. Halak is awful on a breakaway, but money in the shootout. Guys like Jagr and Ovechkin are usually money on a breakaway, but are lost in a shootout. Generally, shooters perform better on a breakaway than in a shootout.

Yeah, Halak was bad last night, but it was fun watching the team win without having their goalie being their best player for a change. Considering Price's success against Boston and Halak's performance last night, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Carey back in net against Boston.

This is yet another chance for Carey to pick up the torch and run with it for a while.

I like how even Mods turn the PGT into a Halak/Price pissing match.

I'd be very surprised to see Martin sit Halak in the midst of a 4-game winning streak. The best part is, he's been solid, but hasn't really "stole" a game yet this streak, which is what I like. I think I got his stats around 2.38 GAA, .912 SV%, which is excellent but at the same time, aside from possibly the Anaheim game, he's been allowed to make mistakes.
