NOTES: Philadelphia’s record for scoring a goal with the least amount of time remaining a game is 0.6 seconds, which has occurred twice: Freddy Meyer(notes) vs. Carolina on March 8, 2006, to tie the game the Flyers eventually won in a shootout
Just have to say, once again... the best regular season game I ever went to.
Powe has a role on this team that he's very good at. He's fast, hard on the forecheck, and can PK I guess but isn't really on the top PK units. I'm quite pleased at the way Carcillo has changed his style this season, showing more discipline and skill.
It's no secret as to why - he's now playing for a coach who actually knows how to coach. It's no coincidence that it's the influence of Laviolette that he doesn't get goaded into needless fights, takes dumb penalties.
He still generally lacks the skill to be a long-term solution on a scoring line, but Laviolette has found a way to put him in a position to contribute with Mike Richards, whereas John Stevens could not (less 70-foot outlet passes have a lot to do with it).
Sometimes, you just have to do things for yourself!
Gotta say, I'm disappointed in you guys. How the **** did it take this long for NPH and Elmo to show up? mercury and I are not around so you all just sit around doing nothing? Shame on you guys (minus Charlie). Shame on you.
