Positioning

I think that win yesterday all but assured us play-off hockey this year, so where are we gonna finish? Personally, i don't think fourth is out of our reach.

Fifth is in our hands now. 3 points behind the Sens with 2 games in hand. All we then need is to win 4 more than the Devils do, and as we play them once in this time then i don't think that's out of the question.

Home advantage sure would be nice for once.

I hope we stay at Six, the Sens or Sabres are the easiest matchup I think.

If we could play one of these teams in the first round and win it could be enough momentum to take us a little farther in the playoffs.

5th, certainly makable and should really get. Need about 94-95 points. I don't think there's really much chance of reaching 4th at all. We'd need about 24 out of a possible 30 remaining points.

I want Washington or Pittsburgh in the first round. Preferably Pittsburgh. I want them to get the demons behind them right away. Regardless, I want them to get as high a seed as possible. I think we'll end up playing Ottawa, though.

I would prefer one of the Devs, Sabres, or Sens... not the Pens.

Anyone but the Penguins.

I'd like the Sabres in the first round. Or even Jersey, they have been in a tail spin for quite some time. Especially on the road.

I want to stay right where we are. I don't want to play Pittsburgh or NJ in the first round which is what would happen if we got 5th.

Anywhere in the top 8 is cool with me. Gonna have to beat Pittsburgh or Washington to get to the finals anyhow, might as well get it out of the way

Call me crazy.... I want the Pens.

Beat the champs to be the champs. Plus the series is always so entertaining.
It would be an added bonus to knock them out with Michael Leighton.

No. No one ever remembers the loser. I want to play the four weakest teams that can somehow make it to the necessary round.

Why do people want the Pens? We've proven time and again that we cannot beat them. I mean theirs a first time for everything but cool yeah I wanna play the Pens so that we can get kicked out in the first round. I'm not saying that we cannot 100% beat them but i'd rather not have to find out. Let someone else kick them out.

Staying at 6 would be cool. I don't want to play the Pens. Sabres kinda scare me with that guy in net

That's all they really got...if you can't beat that team, then you don't really have any shot. With Leighton in net, it's the high octane offenses that concern me.

Other than a goalie, we are built for the playoffs. Bring anyone on and hope we are hot going in.

Washington scares me with Leighton. As does Pittsburgh. I do not want to have to play both of them, so however we avoid that.

I don't know, I think I'd like to see the Pens first round. A second round matchup with them having home ice seems more daunting than a first round matchup. The Flyers will likely be a huge underdog in any series they play so I'll take the Pens first rather than second or third.

Also **** Sean Avery!

i'd rather play the sens. their goal differential is awful. kovalev has killed us lately, but there is no way he will keep it on full throttle so they probably won't be able to outscore us.

Talk of positioning before a spot is clinched is the kind of thinking we don't want our players doing, so I'll pass too. Let's get IN the playoffs before we start trying to pick our opponent.

This is a really good site. Based on this, we're likely to finish 6th unless we go on a huge tear or fall apart....

For the odds to favour us finishing 4th, we'd have to go 12-2 or get some major help.
