I want this man to rise up. It would be so nice to have him comeback and make a meaningful impact.

It really wont suprise me if Danny excells, develops the same skill in his glove hand, and becomes an NHL goaltender again. Sooo many stranger things have happened and I have a feeling that modern medical science will help him straighten his shoulder out. Just my gut feeling

Man, those pictures make me depressed. I just want him to be able to play so much, just prove everyone wrong.

In my naive mind I say yes, but in reality I have a hard time believing it. :\ But like bleeding blue said, who knows these days with all this new stuff they come up with in medicine. I really hope it's possible.

Unless they make an incredible breakthrough, no... he will never regain "full" strength in his arm. But what he has is apparantly more than enough to attempt to succeed in the game. His quickness in his left arm is still good except in rotating it out. He will just have to try a different style. We'll see how it goes.

Those pics give me some hope and a lot of anticipation. It's great to see Dan in net again. He looked pretty focused.

You can only pray for the best for this kid.

i was thinking...i wonder how the will make him in the hockey video games....

not only will they have to make his quipment look different (thats easy) they will have to specially design him, so that he wont catch the puck, but instead block it away.

I dont think the glove part is for catching. I think its for shots near the crease that he can pounce on and cover with the catcher.

If Blackburn can redirect the puck into the cornors on shots then i can see him doing a great job..and try and keep the puck as close to him and not let too many rebounds i think well be alright

I think he could be a pro goalie but i just dont know if that's going to work against the highest level of pro hockey. Anyone who's ever been to a ECHL game will tell you the speed difference can be measured in light years.

Having said that, I want Blackburn to succeed. I hope he does, I just gotta be realistic about the odds of that happening.
