The hit was bad, reckless, whatever you want to call it. I hope Campbell a full recovery. But its amazing how strong Ovechkin is, especially at the speed he can skate at, its quite overwhelming.

Hope the Caps don't have your attitude if they go down a game in the playoffs. Just sayin...

I have confidence he can, but that doesn't mean I know he will.

The league is certainly doing their part to make things difficult for him.

Oh I forgot! 2nd game back from the suspension is against the Pens. That could be worth a couple.

I think a week's rest is not bad at all -- I am not sure that more time would help him any, except he'd start losing some conditioning..

If I hear one more media person use the word "reckless" i'm going to harm them, seriously.

They think it's some sort of safety word that they can use to call Ovechkin dirty and have everyone agree with them.

If you think he's a dirty player, ball up and say it, ****s. That makes me madder than anything. They think they're heroes or something. "Ovechkin is a great hockey player, but even his coach thinks he can be reckless at times." How about go **** yourself? Bruce was using it as a synonym for irresponsible, these idiots are using it as a P.C. form of dirty. Say it already.

Alan May may have taken a few too many shots to the face and, as a result, be more ridiculously homerish than any t.v. personality should (Jack Edwards notwithstanding), but he comes out and is proud of his crazy opinions. **** the media. Embrace the hate.

For who?

The way the Caps play around their own net, games against elite forwards are always an adventure.

I see the main boards have gone into full blown Caps kill. They are suprised and annoyed that Boudreau didn't like the suspension call. What a shock.

This will make the Caps winning the cup all the more fun.

C'mon! I thought the punishment for Ovy was excessive, but they're not the same play. Seidenberg was definitely more on the side, and Ovy was definitely more from the back.

He seemed to kick his legs out a bit, and it was more on the side. Not much less dangerous. That was like a half Ovi, half Downie hit. 2+0/2=1

So that should be a one game suspension.

"Reckless"... turning into a potential playoff avatar theme for the Caps this year?

Seriously, this one should be the text book example of what a Major Board+Game Misconduct is.

This is a joke. Mix those hits in with Adams hit from behind on OV. None of those even got a MINOR penalty.

Alan May maybe onto something.

Personally I think its the league trying to make Ovechkin a pure skill player for their marketting reasons. They do not want him injuring players (easy for him to do since he is a beast) as it gives bad rep.

Oh...and for those Caps fans who think "well this is a good thing..it gives OV rest and other players a chance to play"..well true enough...HOWEVER the bad part is that now its on his record and it shows the league is targetting him. Come playoff time any marginal hit by him will draw a penalty and perhaps a suspension.

Colin Campbell is horrible.

What a coincidence that this is the third time OV was suspended prior to a game against the Panthers who are fighting for a playoff spot.

Irony that Green got suspended (I know Campbell supposedly was not involved in that ruling) in a game against...you guessed it...the Panthers!

Where there is smoke there is usually fire.

I dont have a problem with the Green suspension. Its the Gonchar no suspension that bugs me. Its not two games for OV that bugs me. Its nothing for Koci and Adams. It really sends mixed signals. Its hard not to perceive this in a hurtful way because its a pattern.

Say Ovie does win the Richard and Ross trophies... do these suspensions play into the voters minds for the Hart?
