kind of off topic, live in auburn? not many hockey fans that live in auburn. I live in auburn. =p I haven't met one hockey fan that lives in auburn, execpt for me and my cousin. =p
Sure do, maybe playoff time we'll turn the alehouse into hockey central!
All-Time Series…The Sharks are 38-41-5-8 all-time against the
Minnesota/Dallas franchise, 7-2-0-2 in the last 11 games…On
Nov. 4, 1998 at Dallas, San Jose recorded a franchise-low nine
shots in a game but won 4-0…On Dec. 31, 2006, Patrick Marleau
passed Owen Nolan for first on San Jose’s all-time list for assists
(246) while Joe Thornton scored his 200th NHL goal in San Jose’s
4-2 win at the American Airlines Arena…On Oct. 29, 2007,
Sharks rookie Devin Setoguchi scored two goals including the
game winner in his NHL debut to lead the Sharks in a 4-2
victory…2009-10: On Dec. 21, Patrick Marleau scored two goals,
Dany Heatley had two assists and Evgeni Nabokov made 36 saves
as the Sharks won 4-2 in Dallas…On Dec. 11, Evgeni Nabokov
made 42 saves and stopped 9 of 11 shootout attempts in a 3-2
shootout loss…On Nov. 12, Evgeni Nabokov made 34 saves and
stopped two of the three shootout attempts he faced in a 3-2
loss…Mike Modano had a goal and an assist for the Stars.
Going to the game tonight, of course. Should be fun.
Not expecting much of a turnout from the Stars "faithful," not nearly as much as the first game here in Dallas in December. The Stars are basically out of the playoff hunt and nobody cares one bit about the team anymore for this season from what I gather. Doesn't help that Modano is out indefinitely (that's what they said on Dallas local TV news last night, now I see 1-2 weeks) now, even though he isn't the star anymore, his name is a household name here.
Last game in December I was really fired up since it was my first Sharks road game, first game in Dallas since moving here, and a good game between teams fighting for the playoffs.
Today I am not as pumped (but will get there when game time rolls around). Doesn't help me that the weekend was an embarrasment against non-playoff teams and I fear a repeat tonight.
Thats awesome to hear man! I hope you can find those SJ fans out in the midwest to join you for a Teal Out like we do in Socal
"If we coast into the playoffs we will coast right out of them" -Boyle
Lets see if they actually walk the walk or just ********.
Remember when they were streaking into the playoffs two years ago? After the Sharks acquired Campbell, they went like 18-1-1 or something like that during the final stretch of the season.
They went roaring into the playoffs and went roaring right out again in the second round. This game means absolutely nothing to the Sharks playoff performance.
This has to be the most embarrassing moment in Stars history

I posted this on WTC earlier today:

To all those who think the Sharks need to play near perfection to finish up the season to make or win the SCF, I don’t think that argument is necessarily true. Playing well into the playoffs is important, but to win every game? Not so much. (Although last year’s penguins were on a tear.)
It seems that there isn’t much correlation between SC winners, runner ups and the Sharks every season…
2008-09 Penguins – 14-2-3 (won last 3 going into playoffs; fleury played all but two games in this stretch)
2008-09 Red Wings – 10-7-2 (Two consecutive losses happened twice in this stretch; lost last two games of season)
2008-09 Sharks – 11-8-2 (lost last two games of season)
2007-08 Red Wings – 12-3-1 (lost two games back-to-back in March)
2007-08 Penguins – 11-5-1 (lost last game of season)
2007-08 Sharks – 14-2-3 (didn’t lose in regulation in March; lost last two games of season)
2006-07 Ducks – 11-3-4 (lost last game of season)
2006-07 Senators – 10-3-5
2006-07 Sharks – 13-0-2

Well they consider Dallas to be the south and there is a fan group here, the "DFW Sharks."
They bought a whole bunch of group tickets to the game but my wife and I wanted a bit better seats and wanted to make sure we were on the aisle because the seats are smaller than those at HP and we aren't the smallest people (but getting smaller through workin out! )
Still awesome that they have a fan group here. The December game had something like 40-50 (or maybe more) Sharks fans. I expect there to be a good turnout tonight as well.
Tix were dirt cheap since the Stars aren't doing so hot and it's a weekday game. Got them below face value and with free parking via stubhub. Reminds me of when I had Sharks season tickets and I was trying to unload weekday games vs. Kings or Yotes, but at least the Sharks were good. lol
