Maybe it wasn't the most exciting game on ice, but consider this for how good we were. We only gave up 20 shots, and we didn't force Halak to make any tough saves. The only goal they got was on a fluke deflection. We dominated possession and while we may not have racked up the chances, we did get some shots and got 2 lucky bounces and that won us the game.
Easiest win of the year for our goalie. Good to see.
We're finally getting healthy and playing like I thought we would at the beginning of the season. I feel more relief then happiness at this point and in that hope, I think we can do some damage in the playoffs if we can get some of the lucky bounces that have avoided us all season.
Once we have a full lineup and firing on all cylinders we could be very dangerous.
As mentioned by other posters, I felt Spacek played a GREAT game. Is it me or he is significantly faster than at the beginning of the season?? He's finally hitting the net with his shot. Props to the third line as well, with a nice chemistry going on!
Man o man, cant stress how important these 2 points were, SO big, pretty ecstatic that we were able to pull it off, crucial wins vs key teams in a very important and tight playoff race
habs win, 1 back of 5th place ottawa (wow)
2 up on 7th place philly 2 games in hand
4 up on boston 1 game in hand (just lost bergeron ouch)
seperated us even FURTHER from the 9th place team, by 7 whopping points
this is BIg news, as everyones got games in hand on us but we keep WINNING to keep us in, and bigtime, as everyones games in hands could all be losses helping us even more, we just keep winning the crucial games baby
very very fortunate philly and ottawa lost tonight, even with a boston win, it just means 4 teams 5 6 7 8, with 8th place 3 points up on 9
(and its rly too bad subban cant be on this team, it would put us over the edge, along with cammy) and bigtime props to SERGEI
Montreal Canadiens and centre Tomas Plekanec have mutually broken off contract talks for the time being as Plekanec does not want the negotiations to be a distraction during the Canadiens run for the postseason.
Plekanec's agent, Rick Curran, told TSN's sister station in Quebec RDS that relations between the two sides remain cordial.
"(GM) Pierre Gauthier and I have discussed Tomas' situation a number of times and we are going in the right direction," he told RDS. "I would even say that the negotiations have been positive."
According to RDS, Curran and Gauthier met for several hours last week during GM meetings in Florida.
Plekanec has said that he wants to stay in Montreal once he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and Gauthier has said that re-signing him is one of his top priorities.
Plekanec leads the Canadiens in assists (44) and points (64).

I saw alot of the same type of play as the win on Saturday against the B's. I like Moore and Sergei, this kid has played much better since the Olympics. Very solid effort tonight, the Rangers either looked really flat or our defensive play gave them nothing to build on.
