great result, did not watch the game... how did darche and lappy look ?
Laps got a couple of shots and checks, doing better than earlier this year, and Darche kept his play simple as usual.

Just saw this on the Rags board. Thought it was hilarious. Clearly they underestimate the power of the turtle neck.

Best 4th line of the season.

thanks guys... nice to hear he kept the momentum going... him and sergei have been doing well lately... its great to see our bottom six being dominant 5 on 5...that has to be the turning point... its probably intertwined with the players comming back from injury too ... what a nice time to peek.

Ah, let them hate. We all know what gangsta and his turtleneck are capable of.

Metro and Moore are two replaceable vets, though. Teams lose these kind of hardworking 3rd/4th line guys all the time and then get a few more on waivers and such if they need one. Lappy, given his age, is still a progect.

.. and if we dealt Lapierre you just know he'd become a stud elsewhere.

Show me one example where Montreal traded a player and they became successful !

We are not so much fighting for a playoff spot anymore as we are fighting for a middle playoff spot. It would be VERY hard for us to fall to 9th place right now. We'd basically have to lose 8 out of 12 games and NYR would have to win 8 out of 12 games.

We are basically at this point fighting for 5th vs Ottawa and trying to hold off the Flyers at 7th. Even falling to 8th at this point is a stretch.

I think so as well, the game on Monday will be huge but let's not take the game Saturday for granted, the Leafs have been playing better and we never have success against them.Flyers just lost Leighton so it's between us and the Sens and with a bit of luck if we could beat Buffalo in our last 2 matchups we may have a shot at the division, whou would have thought

It's funny how no one mentioned the ****in made up Bettman for the Rangers penalty call in OT, there was NO hook on the play. Once again the NHL prooving it's full of ****.
We are not saying anything because we won, but had we loss, this would be all over our media !

Forget the 8 points in 10 games, forget that he has been taking all the important faceoffs after the Olympics break, its the little things that amaze me. His positional play is outstanding, he takes space away from whoever he is on the ice with and despite not being huge is really good on the cycle, keeping the puck on the opposition's end.

Lapierre is not bad, but he is a reckless player, much more suited for the wing. Moore brings such a stabilizing presence its incredible.
Actually, I think three players changed the chemistry of this team. Pouliot, Moore & Darche.

Pouliot brought another offensive weapon to our top six. He is also an overall complete hockey player. Another thing, his size was badly needed on our top six.

Moore is playing lights out for a third liner. He has helped make that third line one of the better third lines in the league.

Darche. My heart goes out to this guy. He brings that net crashing and hardnose play that was desperately needed on this team. No one was doing it on a regular basis or with a a half decent sized body. Darche does it game in and game out. I would give him some PP minutes. He constantly goes to the net.

WUT?????

It's pretty even in the last few seasons, we have had a slighter hedge even.

Also Gomez has played much better with the insertion of Pouliot and a healthy Gionta. Pouliot has slowed down a bit the past two games. Hope he'll pick it up again.

Did you miss the last two times Markov got injured at the ACC? It's not even coincidence anymore; that place has bad voodoo when it comes to him.

That was a good display of playoff style hockey boys. A win was desperately needed and they suffocated the Rangers into submission. If they play like this all the time I have confidence they can beat anyone, anyone!

Had they kept Antropov things might have been a little different.
