Any reason they didn't put Staal on the IR? expecting him back soon?

How's Sammy been this season? He has only 8 points and I see from your lines thread that he's been on the 3rd line. Are you expecting an improved scoring pace from him going forward?

Wasn't sure if this should go here, or the injury thread. But my purposes are clear..

Any update on Ward? I'm guessing still first week of December is the ETA on his return

1st week is just the first point he can be removed from the IR. Still not sure what kind of time frame we're working with on this one but I am expecting at least a few weeks past that.

He's supposedly real close. He possibly could have returned this past weekend, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him this week.

What is taking the Cane's so long to put Ward on the IR? Emery of the Flyers is on a similar situation and they already put Emery on LTIR, before the break even..

They know how much angst it causes fantasy owners and they love it.

I just released Cam today because I didn't want to wait any longer. That's good news for Cam and the Canes, because any time I do something like that it comes back to bite me.

Fantasy hockey Q for you all -- I picked up Jokinen on waivers a while back and he has been amazing. Is he a keeper? Do you see him continuing, or is this a blip?
thanks

honestly I can see him continuing on the path he's going. He had some really good seasons in Dallas before falling on hard times. I'm fairly confident that he'll be a pretty consistent 50-60 point guy in the league with some seasons over that.

Hey guys, Ranger fan here... I come in piece. I just want to post in here saying that I have a fantasy GM game in the fantasy/mock draft part of HF. Go there and look for NYSportsfan6230's Official Fantasy Game and join up, we need 19 more spots and will be a lot of fun, Thanks.

goalie

im in an expensive fantasy hockey league and I had Cam Ward, Pekka Rinne, and Fleury. At this point I need a third goalie since Ward is hurt. Who is gonna get the bulk of the starts? Peters or Legace?

Peters or Legace: They'll basically split time for the rest of the season, or until Ward returns.

Ward's return: there have been recent rumblings that he may come back before the end of the year, and my guess is that he will. However, even if you do get him, you'll only get him for a few games.

I would have to drop Dan Ellis to get Ward.

My other goalies are Jonas Hiller and Pekka Rinne

If it's a keeper league, you might seriously consider it...maybe even just before the season ends. If the league ends at the end of the season, prolly not worth it.

Is he likely to return next season? I'm thinking of drafting him in a keeper league, but only if there's a good possibility that he's coming back.

Thanks in advance.

It's hard to say for certain, but I'd say it's more likely than not that he'll play in the NHL this coming year. He's motivated to come back to NA, and this will be the Hurricanes last year to get some value out of him, so they'll either sign him or trade him to another NHL team.
