Hopefully Samuelsson comes back for the playoffs, which he should. I hate losing players to injuries in a non important game to a non important team. **** you Islanders.
Its kind of ok taken how bad it could have been. We are not fighting for a Play off spot and he is back 'til Play off. I so hope he is fit when play off starts, as we all do.
I think we'll have the forward depth to recover from this. Plus, after watching the Islanders game itself, the team seemed a little bit slack with respect to some of the little things. Having an injury like this might serve as a wake up call that they need to be more focused and disciplined to win instead of going by the seat of their pants and expecting to come back.
So basically what I'm saying is that with Samuelsson out, and Grabner now in, we should still be able to win any game, just maybe not as easily. That's not a bad thing.
Hopefully the 2-3 weeks will renew some other bumps and bruises and he'll be fresh as a daisy for the playoffs.
****!!!!!
it would be nice to have a hot player like samuelsson going into the playoffs.
hopefully he doesnt dry up.
With that being said, im glad to see Grabner given a chance and Burrows just slides back with the Sedins.
The wellwood line has been really good since Hansen joined.
No MRI was done because the injury is simple and easy to diagnose or because his shoulder is so bad and swollen up and he can't fit into the MRI machine? What to do, what to do?!

Agreed. At worse, it takes away our terrific 1b option with Samuelsson and Burrows switching lines.

Oh no, you just called the Islanders "unimportant"! They're going to put up a screen cap of your post next year when the Canucks play them!
As much as it sucks losing Samuelsson, luckily Burrows just slots back with the Sedins for the rest of the season and Grabner slides in on thw 3rd line with Wellwood and Hansen. This gives Raymond another chance in the top 6.

Do you really want Grabner on the third line? He's either top 6 or AHL.
This. Besides, Raymond can play on any line, at this point he will mostly play on the third line as that line seems to be getting chances and eventually get some points.
D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Burr
Demo-Kes-Grabner
Mace-Welly-Hansen

Didn't really look at it that way. Good point. Would still be pissed if I was Raymond though. Gettin' Sammy and Bernier back before the playoffs is gonna be a huge boost.
Raymond's recent slump is actually a blessing in disguise. He went on a mini hot streak, that if would have continued, would have lead to an overpayment in his next contract.
We are now seeing that maybe Raymond is not the type of player who is capable of maintaining a high level of play throughout an 82 game schedule.
This should help Gillis negotiate a reasonable cap hit for Raymond moving forward.

Raymond's ''slump'' is a result of being shuffled down the depth chart with the return of Demitra. He hasnt played poorly. It is good that it will lower his cap hit in negotiations, but much like Brule in Edmonton...Raymon'ds gotta be pissed.
