I'm glad I waiting until this debacle tonight to vote.

They'll hang onto 7th place and will be out against Pittsburgh (again) in Round 1. 5 games sounds about right, DOAM.

I think we need to make a trade for a young goalie, but I definitely don't want to overpay for any of Harding, Schneider, Halak, or Price. Giroux/JVR going the other way is just not an option. Coburn/Parent is a possibility.
All things considered... of all the ones mentioned. I would like to see Corey in a Flyers uni the most.

That's how I see it. We'll be on our second or third goalie, and the skaters just seem so damn inconsistent lately I can't feasibly expect better than a first round exit.

I'll move this update in here.

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern.html
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/E...ic/Flyers.html

Despite going 1-1-1 last week, not much has really changed here.

Has us very solidly making the playoffs at 98% (still) and even though we're currently 7th in points the chart has us at a higher % than both Ottawa and Montreal, taking 5th (still).

90 points should just about guarantee a playoff spot although as little as 87-88 might be enough this year.
Need to go 6-6-1.

91 points with a 48% chance of getting 6th.
Need to go 6-5-2.

93 points with a 58% chance of getting 5th. Definitely in sights (still).
Need to go 8-5.

101 points with a 52% chance of getting 4th.
Need to go 12-1. Yeah, um...no.

Games remaining - 13
6 home
7 away

6 against currently playoff bound teams. Besides maybe the Pens and/or Devils, no real powerhouses.

Devs
Pens
Red Wings
Sens
Habs
Wild
Bruins
Stars
Rangers - 2 (home & home to finish the season)
Thrashers - 2 (home & home)
Isles
Leafs

It's the "non powerhouses" that should worry us as Flyer fans, most of our losses come from them.

And 7-2-1 in their last 10.

It's a raw deal for whoever gets them in the 1st round out West.

Right now I'll be happy if they are in 8th place. As long as they make the playoffs. You don't want the flyers to miss, and not get a good draft pick #. Just the worst position possible.

8th place if Boucher gets lucky, Caps will take us in 5 games.

I originally said 6th and win a round but I am downgrading to finishing 7th or 8th with a first round exit

Here's a question for everyone. Would you rather play Washington or Pitt in the first round?

Washington so we can be eliminated by someone new instead of being eliminated 3 years in a row by Pittsburgh.

So my prediction hasn't been too far off for this round...

Hey-oh!!!

(Since I was wrong about everything else).

Realistically, what Leighton is doing right now probably has less than 5 parallels in NHL history.

Crossing my fingers that JStaff is directly on the money with his playoff pick. I figured embarrassing 2nd round exit, it was looking pretty good for a while, glad I was wrong.
