depends. if we play up to our capabilities and either make the playoffs or just miss it then yes. if we ar in the top 8 draft spots then i'd rather try to trad NJ's first or one of our defensive prospects
Logic: I'd do Sharp and Chicago's 1st for Our 1st rounder, Sharp is such a complete player and would be awesome on a line with Peverley.
I'll do Versteeg for NJ's 1st and Mac: Mac's been alright but Versteeg is an obvious upgrade; Chi sheds salary, gains another first in exchange for a serviceable 2nd liner who with a good supporting cast could potentially put up comparable numbers to Versteeg.
I'll trade Bolland for Pavalec straight up. Good young center, would pair well with Kane and Little
Todd White for Cristobal Huet is pretty equal IMO.
BTN stated Sharp is a UFA soon. He will NEVER re-sign here.
And we aren't going to be good within 2 years to where he matters.
I'll take Nino, an NHL ready forward, whom will be a star in a few years while Sharp's career is declining.
Sharp is going to be 29. By the time he is a UFA he will be 31. Within those 2 years he would not have helped make or break the Thrashers. This team doesn't need him at all. He doesn't make us a playoff team. And to give up a top pick would be more than insane.
Nino, on the other hand, is 11 years younger. Nino doesn't turn 18 untill like 4 days before the cut off date in September, the date Tavares didn't make. Nino is a young 18.
He has potential to be a amazing goal scorer. He leads all rookies in goals in the WHL this season with like 36 and missed like 10 games. He doesn't get attention because he is a Swiss prospect.
Besides Sharp only benefits from a good team. He is no Antropov. If Sharp came here he would probably be Todd White junior. Antropov would have 90 points on Chi Chi.

You wouldn't trade an unproven, 18 year old, mid-round prospect for Patrick Sharp?! You're out of your mind.
But if it turns out that the Thrashers 1st pick could be Nino Jesusrieter and the team can't draft him because they got Patty Sharp instead...the world will end, man. ****ing END!
