Mathieu Tousignant signed a 3 year entry level contract with the Dallas Stars. The cap hit for the contract will be $561,667. His NHL salary next season will be $545,000, and he'll earn $570,000 the last 2 seasons. His AHL salary will be $50,000 all 3 years.

This is the 3rd free agent to sign an ELC this year. Tristan King and Hubert Labrie signed with Dallas during training camp in September

He's been with Texas and Idaho this year. Played well in Idaho with 17 points in 20 games and has 6 points in 33 games in Texas.

Someone was saying he plays a game similar to Ott. I can't remember who said it but I think it was on this board.

So did this happen back in the fall and just wasn't reported until now, or did pen really just meet paper?

I see it doesn't start until the 10-11 season so it seems like the latter... was there an agreement in place to offer a contract provided this year went smoothly?

A little strange also that he was left off the clear day roster? Unless they just want him to play a major role in the ECHL playoffs for what should be a Kelly Cup favorite.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he was signed to Dallas...I think he was signed to Texas (AHL) and was able to be shuttled back and forth between those two...many sources did not have him as Stars property, thus why I didn't have him on the prospect list...

EDIT: referring to his play with Texas/Idaho all season, not this contract obviously.

he signed an AHL/ECHL contract earlier (last summer I believe). the ELC was signed about a week ago or so. Now he is officially stars property. Before the ELC he was not.
