Against the Panthers. Leafs sit 29th in the league still, but are now just three points behind the Panthers, who sit in 28th. It isn't gonna make much of a difference, but every single slot away from the lottery pick is a good thing.
Toronto is playing very well considering they are really playing for pride and the Sens, Devils, and Habs need the points. Leafs fans should be encouraged by the play of so many of their younger players.
The Leafs may get out of the Seguin/Hall pre-lottery spot but the schedule on the surface is not an ally. They are running out of games, and the teams directly infront of them- Florida, Tampa (dogs, I'd rather have the Leafs get Seguin or Hall than this bunch, at least the fans would appreciate it and get enjoyment out of them) and Carolina play each other 5 times- with Tampa and Florida squaring off three times.
And they all play my Bruins so there is three more potential wins
Florida may go South but with a couple of games in hand, Booth and Horton back, and all those games against the Canes and Bolts they should be able to hang on.
Then again if Toronto keeps winning....lucky for Boston they don't have the Senators on the schedule
I just hope Toronto doesn't come out flat on Tuesday. They have confidence right now and are playing well, but Florida usually gives them a tough time so it won't be an easy game.
The drive to strive for 9th would be an accomplishment this year, sounds weird saying that.
Yeah it probably is lol.
There is 4 teams within 4 points, I hope at least we can pass one of them maybe even 2. Leafs are going to have to win probably at least 7 out of their last 10 for that to happen.

Leafs always bring out their best against the better teams, but fall against the weaker teams (St Louis, NYI).
Well it was thought similarly about the game against the Islanders and look how that turned out. We need to win that game no matter what. Right now we're in a position to catch someone so just have to keep pushing and we might just do it.
I am not sure why, but the Leafs tend to have the ability to beat Pittsburgh or Montreal but fall on their faces against teams like Florida...
The Leafs should be able to win - but I am worried they will be satisfied after a couple of big wins.
It's hard for a bad team that has no chance at making the playoffs to get pumped for games against other weak teams. At least when they play a rival, or a Cup contender it gets them motivated.
If the Leafs and Gustavsson can keep playing like they have been we won't be giving Boston a top 2 pick, which is sweet. Anything but Hall/Seguin and I would be ecstatic.
can we please stop labelling every next game the biggest game of the year?
How about, throughout the course of the year, there are many important games. This is one of them.
Important game for sure. Defining moment of the season? Not by a longshot.
