So, correct me if I'm wrong...

Even if we sign a FA goalie and his pro-rated contract fits under the cap he is not eligiable for postseason play?

either way we are in goaltending trouble as usual. We have to ride Boucher in an attempt to "make the playoffs" the others are not even in the equation. I feel for Boucher in a sense as Laviolette appears to not like him. Lavi wouldn't even dress him at times and went to Leighton when he had to choose between him and Boucher. Boucher looks tired and out of shape, the only time his blocker hand moves with any speed is when he is fishing the puck from out of the net. All three goals were clean last night and horrible at best. To quote Torts "sometimes you just need a f@#ken save". And I think it is ok to have that expectation on a goalie. Holmer said that he "signed boucher to be one of our goalies" and that is where we are at. With a good goalie we are in deep against any of the top three so it is what it is. I think all four of them being Emery Leighton Boucher and Holmgren will be gone after the season anyways so take our lumps now and fill the needs next year.

Well I think according to Timmy P, Backlund is back and will now be the backup. (This is only from his 2 word Twitter saying "Backlund Back") This also could mean he has back problems lol. Tim needs to make alittle more sense.

If healthy, maybe we will get to see him sometime soon.

This is the product of having avg at best goaltending. You have to change your game plan and the other players are playing tight knowing they cant afford any mistakes. They will not play a wide open game and their offensive chance will drop a lot during the game. They will overcompensate in other areas and will end up getting burnt. But you don’t need a good goalie, any dime a dozen guy can carry the laod when you have a great young team with great offensive and defensive players. I think I read a few people say that anyway.

I'd like to think that Laviolette is drilling into his players that the #1 way to support their goaltender – whether it's Emery, Leighton, Boucher or Georges Vézina – is to put multiple pucks behind the guy at the other end.

I'm convinced the team has no confidence in Boucher, something tells me he sucks the big one in practice too. The only explanation I have that they always play so flat with him in goal. At this point they have nothing to lose, give Duchesne/Backlund a game maybe they will play with more purpose.

Johan Backlund in place of Jeremy Duchesne at practice today. Don't be surprised if he gets a start this week.

They'd probably suck for a while. Passing with the catcher on is pretty different. Once he got it down though I would love to see my goalie just say to hell with my D-men, start skating up and gain the zone his damn self, maybe shrug off a checker or two... how wild would that be.

Everyone thread back to when Leighton was signed, same save Boucher propaganda, he looks horrid, I would give Backs a try, cant hurt worse then Boucher in net.

Mr. Softee drove by my house today and Booosh!! Was driving it.

I was actually Booing, during the Boosh Chants.

I'm thinking maybe Carlos Ruiz. He's won a championship at least.

Can he skate? We could put him to the left of the net and just let his glove hand cover everything...
