Do you guys really think that EVERY GOALIE since 2004 has just sucked? It's a system gap, a coaching and a personnel issue at defense... Which has yet to be addressed through two owners and three head coaches. Hopefully the new owners will finally fix this issue by bringing in a qualified coach(for once) and cutting the dead weight.

...but then again I'm talking to you experts that thought the problem was Vrbata too right? The guy that before and after the "year" with the Lightning was and is a 40+ point(20+ goals) guy.

Oh and don't forget the Cory Murphy love... you know the guy that played 12 games on the BEST DEFENSIVE TEAM IN THE LEAGUE this season but still managed to be a -2... btw, he's one of TWO on NJ this year with a negative plus/minus.
Sounds like you got all the answers!! What are you doing posting on a message board?!?!?!?

Oh yeah.

Ramsey was fired so Torts could keep his job. In the mean time, Boston started getting pretty damn good... Wonder if that was a bad decision?

BTW Matt Carle, +19, 30+ points this season.

Just a bunch of round-peg-square-hole here. Some of the pegs sort of fit, but overall its just ugly.

Pronger has definitely lost a step or two the past two seasons but your point is of course valid... but it does takes two to make a defensive pair, he's not with Pronger because he(Carle) sucks.

...and the Lightning don't have a single pair.

Meszaros
Lecavalier
Ohlund
Tanguay
Veilleux
Smaby
Walker

Above:
Stamkos
Downie

At career average statistically:
St. Louis
Malone
Foster

This whole team is one giant line-and-roster shuffle, and as gobolt7 (Mike Corcoran) has said before, blame goes both ways. Tocchet and Lawton both share blame and responsibility for this debacle, and the coaching ****up was just icing on the cake for Lawton to go.
You can also argue that Hedman has actually become worse as the year has gone on, is that fatigue or is that coaching? Considering its 73 games now and when we are on D the whole team ignores anyone that doesnt have the puck, I'm starting to wonder.

We need Foster on the PP but he is such a defensive liability he should be playing 4th line Winger.

Bochenski has the offensive skills of 3rd lineer but the defensive IQ of highschooler, he should have been sent back down to Norfolk.

I'll said it in another thread. Tochet is now dealing with what every other team has had to deal with, injuries and playing some of the tougher teams. When this season all evens out, this team may be a lottery team and it doesn't have lottery team talent.

Most importantly, with Lawton and Tochet's job on the line it doesnt seem like the team really cares.

With some of the talent this team has already, I could see it being a very attractive job for a good GM and Coach.

Annnnd the Tampa Bay tank theorists are back on the main board. So sad. You can almost set your watch by these threads popping up like weeds.

That's typical coming from up north...only difference is there's no clear cut first pick this year and nobody's guaranteed the first pick anyway....

You must not have been around for the Stamkos draft (long time lurker here!). The LA fans were absolutely enraged. Apparently there never was a more blatant tank job in the history of the NHL. But they made out ok with Doughty, after all he's way better than Stamkos anyway

Just have to ignore it anyway. We'll always be tanking or we just got lucky or we're moving to Winnipeg. Lecavalier is being traded for a load of garbage players. We're ruining Stamkos. We don't deserve a team. We don't have snow...we're not like Canada.....everything is always better up north.....blah blah blah same ol same ol
