Disappointing to say the least. We get shut-out by a crappy Ottawa team in our own building as we're both fighting for position & a play-off spot. Our offence has been AWOL for awhile now. We got some lucky goals on Lundqvist. We should have buried the Rangers and didn't. We could've buried the Sens if we capitalized on some of our chances.

Now we have Buffalo-New Jersey Wed/Sat. This could be a painful week.

I don't know why Cammy didn't play tonight. Seriously, we're in a play-off race Habs! All men on deck please.

JM is an unspectacular coach.

6 game win streak= 2 game losing streak (so far....)

This team must always ruin what they do when they're playing well, by following up with a horrible performance. If they continue on like this their 6 wins won't mean anything.

Getting a W in Buffalo will be extremely difficult. The only chance we have is if Cam and MAB play. We need them desperatly right now, and if the doctors give them the green light, JM shouldn't even hesistate to put them on the ice.

Will this be the first time this season Halak starts after 2 losses? Or does CP get the start?

I don't get the hate for O'Byrne, he obviously makes some bad plays whenever he has the puck but other than that he's been solid. Hamrlik on the other hand...

Cammy and Begeron will help big time. Montreal wins tonight and vs the leafs if they convert on the PP or are at least dangerous. Both Ottawa and Toronto weren't afraid to take penalties because Montreal has been so ineffective on the PP lately!

Hammr has been very disappointing the past couple of games.

I hope he gets back to his true self soon. He's a rock, just not right now...

Ya, maybe Cammy is slow to come back and is a complete non-factor in those two games. Maybe he aggravates his injury.
Maybe MAB scores 1 Goal on PP and another tonight, but he makes 2-3 mistakes that turn into goals as well.

It's so easy to come up with different scenarios when we start to speculate.

I don't get all the craziness. Yea, we were pretty weak vs Toronto, still we managed to squeeze a point out.
Tonight, Ottawa didn't dominate us. We made a few defensive mistakes that turned into 2-1 but Halak saved the day.
Elliott had to make some key saves too. It was a very close game.
I really don't understand why some people are whining about anything.

Halak was excellent.

McCreary did his usual screw job on the Sens, but couldn't help the Habs get one by Elliot in spite of his best efforts.

Sens getting no credit in this thread...truly shocking.

Yah, I;m not too worried about it. I was a little fustrated with the coaching decisions this game, but it happens...no biggie.

The only thing concerns me going forward is Plekanec. He's starting to look like 07-08: Has a great season and then goes MIA in the last 15 games and the playoffs.

He plays rough and gritty all year and then just disappears. It has nothing to do with his linemates, it's just his game in general since the break that's bothering me.

Isn't it wonderful. This game was not nearly as bad as the suicide bombers will have you believe.

Elliot played well, there were a number of chances generated. I've seen at least 20 games this year where the Habs played worse than tonight, many of them they won.

Give Sens and Elliot credit but this isn't a game to despair about.

On top of the bad habits that have crept back in, the PP is enough to make one leave the room. I made brownies. Clearly it'd kill JM to try one of the brothers on the point, no need to attempt resuscitating the man advantage... which should be enough to bail the team out on nights like these in crucial games to gain some much needed breathing room in the standings.
blahh

There was plenty to be unhappy about in the game. Yes, we move on from here and I am still sold on the fact that we have a good team, but you can't just ignore a **** fest like tonight. Truly awful execution and when you get close to the playoffs, those are the things that become worrisome (assuming you make the POs). It was awful because we were handed the game so many times and couldn't do anything. We ARE much better than this. It's not a bandwaggon. If anything it's people believing in the team and thinking they should be doing better. Positive sign actually. There is no denying, however that:
- we need Cammy
- If no one is going to step up on the PP, MAB is needed too
- Hammer is tired and not playing like before, needs to change (oddly, Spacek has improved...yup...improved. As a D only though)
- The Gomez line is the only one that will generate a scoring chance almost every shift
- AK SUCKKKKKKS right now. I don't have a hate on for this guy, in fact I have his jersey, but I don't know what has happened to him...no scoring flare anymore. I think it will change, but for now SK is da man. I think he should have been with Pleky from the second period.
- Goalies are not even close to an issue
- Pouliot is about to go into another scoring streak...he seems like the kind of guy to realize that he's slipping and what he needs to do to get back on top
- HOLY ****, I havn't read anything, but that Moen injury was scary as hell and I for one think he's integral to the team
- Metro and Moore are key players, don't doubt that for a second.
- It's the bounces and extra millisecond decisions and misses that are causing us to play below our potential in the past two games. It might change for the better. It should, but hey....we all thought tonight was going to be a win.

We got lucky too in the defensive zone. How many turnovers at the blueline did we give up without getting scored thanks to good goaltending by Halak ? We must've given five or six 2on1 or 3on1. Our defensemen took some really bad decisions at the blueline, Hamrlik especially.

Piss poor effort for an important game. The Sens play by play guy puts me to sleep, then again, there wasn't much to get excited about.
