Not expecting any sort of let down tonight. The crowds at Bridgestone have been great, and you can expect 16,000+ again and the place will be rocking. Hopefully Rinne keeps up is hot goaltending. GO PREDS!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than the fact that I'm a Barry Trotz clone and trying to find a way to wrap a tie aroung my non-existant neck; I'm really liking where the Preds are right now. I don't really care WHO the Preds play in the playoffs, just want them to MAKE the playoffs. After that, ranks don't matter. Anything can happen in the playoffs. We say "I don't want SJ" but they have been swooning as usual. Chicago's weakness is goaltending and defense health. Phoenix is an unknown who's hot much like Nashville. Vancouver has Luongo but his stats are just slightly better than Rinne and Ellis.

I'm not worried. Right now Sports club stats has Nashville at a 98.3% chance of making the playoffs. 2 wins out of 9 gets Nashville to the magic 101st number of 93. (Way things are going 94 is a lot safer in my mind.)

I don't expect Dallas to Roll over for us, they took Phoenix to a SO and i expect them to play as tough as that against us...

That being said I hope we have Arnott for sure in the lineup because we need him.

Well after all that i expect us to come out of this game with a win, but it won't be easy

3-2 Preds

(Hornqvist,Wilson,Goc)

I'm hoping we steamroll Dallas and Rinne has another superb game.

4-1 Preds, Weber the game winner.

P.S. I'm really liking a lot of the new posters around here, especially Walkman. It's about time we got new blood in here!

Hopefully we come out of the gate tonight like we played the third period in St. Louis. That pressure was unbelievable. I'm glad Arnott is ok and probably in. He was just starting to get going with Wilson and Erat and we'll need his big body in the middle for the playoffs (knock on wood). Go Preds!
3 - 2 Preds

To tell you the truth, I think Phoenix would be the worst team to face in the first round.

At least there aren't any shootouts in the first round... Adrian Aucoin would win the entire first round by himself

So maybe he's not so ok... Just what we needed... Maybe we should get him a bubble helmet or something.. or one of those sumo suits from the intermissions... What do our lines look like?
Wilson - Boyd - Erat
Sully - Goc - Horny
Toots - O' Reilly - Dumont
Spaling - Leggy - Smithson

i would say he got concussed again. might be a low grade one(how ever they "grade" them) but i'm saying the team talking about him playing today was always just a show.

P.S. I wish we had a CBJ game left so somebody could return the favor to Pahlsson

Flip Boyd and O'Reilly and I think you've got yourself a lineup...

Boyd and O'Reilly each looked out of place to start Sunday's game in St. Louis, but coming out of the first intermission Trotz flipped them, the team came to life, and each had a great game.

I'm guessing Trotz will plug Spaling into Ward's spot and keep the rest of the lineup as is...

I think you're right Seth.

I have to admit though, that I think it would be interesting to see Wilson-Legwand-Erat given a few shifts together against the opposition's top line. I think that line might put two on the board for a couple of reasons: Legwand and Erat's speed to counterattack against an offensively-minded line while Wilson trails smartly as well as the on ice vision all three have (especially Wilson and Legwand) to find each other in a possession game combined with Erat and Wilson's ability to maintain possession.

That line intrigues me particularly.

That said, I'd hate to see Hornqvist split from Erat as Patric functions best with players who put the puck on net. Given that, a Hornqvist-Wilson-Erat line playing a few shifts might be interesting too.

BTW, right on cue to the question you and I were discussing the other night in a game thread, John Glennon has posted the story that the Predators have already reached the attendence threshold.

OK, so Glennon is reporting that after the morning skate the lines look like...

Wilson - O'Reilly - Erat
Sullivan - Goc - Hornqvist
Boyd - Legwand - Smithson
Dumont - Spaling - Tootoo

I said it back on deadline day, I believe Boyd's ultimate role will be on Legwand's wing replacing Smithson and using his speed to complement Legwand. I just didn't think it would happen this season necessarily...

Spaling put in more of an offensive role than earlier this season. Must be smart about it, but the next step in his development is that he has to show the ability to create offense at the NHL level. Hopefully that begins tonight...

Although I see what you are saying, you are coming at this from an offensive angle. As we know, when regulars are missing from the lineup, Trotz tends to overcompensate defensively and sets lines accordingly.

Wouldn't it make more sense defensively for Spaling to be given less defensive responsibility as a winger on Leggy's line while keeping Boyd as a center with Tootoo and Dumont to keep him in more of an offensive roll?

would that be less responsibility to be on a shut down line? or a "fourth line" that's getting fewer minutes and against less offensively talented players?

this should give spaling an opportunity to create offence at center.
