Anyone here work in the IT industry?

Hey guys, I need to do some research to get funding for school.Part of it involves talking to people involved with my area of study (IT). Anybody on this board involved in the industry and could possibly answer a few questions?
PM me if you want to help me out. Thanks.

Might get better luck in the Geek Emporium. I'm pretty sure some IT guys are there.

Good luck.

"IT" is a pretty generic term, any field in particular you are referring to (engineering, network admin, etc)?

Quit your job, and get one where the boss doesn't care about your productivity.

I'm waiting for my dad to retire so I can take over his business, it's a fool proof plan

I've done some helpdesk stuff, a little corporate network troubleshooting, but not too much. Trying to break into the field. If you need help in that direction, let me know.

What do you mean by IT exactly? That's fairly vague..

I'm a 3rd year software engineering student and i'm starting a 16 month internship with IBM in May. I don't know if that fits youre requirements or not

I've worked in "IT" for about 15 years now in various disciplines. I worked with heavy industrial automation, some software contract work, 7 years at Oracle in middleware, 2 startups, and finally insurance and education software.

What do you need to know that users are idiots? I've been in IT over 12 years.

As the others have mentioned, IT is not exactly a small field, there are many branches to it, in any case, I've been working in the Web Development field for 3 years.
