I know it wouldn't be good for our reputation, but after that goal was disallowed I was hoping Lappy, Carcillo, and Asham were sent out.

I finally saw video from the 3rd period.

This goal should have never counted and the Flyers should have been on the powerplay:

This goal should have counted, tying the game (If it hadn't been tied already):

The refs screwed us. Big time.

Yes, the refs played a part. But the Flyers put themselves in a position to let them play that part.

After watching the game again, the refs were bad but when aren't they with us.

We missed to many opportunities, rule 76 no excuses play like champions.

Insert Riley Cote!

So i take it that the NHL aren't going to suspend Volchenkov for either hit? It really wouldn't surprise me.

well it wasn't a suspension type board really, unless he had prior calls/suspensions

the clowns in Ottawa say they cant see white between the puck and the goal line? REALLY? WTF is that I see when I pause it at 45 seconds. white.
unbelievable. Add into the fact that they arent even mentioning the actions of that sand vagina gloving the puck in the goal and pulling it out.
Ridiculous.
After seeing that, I am even more pissed off then I was last night.

It wasn't because Gagne was not injured on the play. If Gagne would have had a broken collar bone or a concussion on the play, (sort of the same as the Ovechkin, Lapierre incident) then I'm sure the NHL would suspend Volchenkov at least 1 or 2 games.

This is another example of punishing by the consequence and not by the action.

This might come out wrong bc im on my phone but the flyers players need to chill about the refs. Now that its the next day its time to be in perspective. Its ok if we complain as fans but they need to be cool. They got away easy recently in games not called strict. Carcillo going on wip and complaining is retarded. He drew a 5 on 3 and got off scot free and the flyers did nothing. I know why he did it but Just what we need is a team notorious for penalties complaining in the press. If gagne is pissed or laviolette says something thats fine since he usually doesnt, and he only talked about the gagne hit (i didnt read the flyers.com link yet). but its just more excuses. Pronger did the right thing, he just went "yeah, but still we played like crap." theyre just put themselves out there and if officials do take notice.

If you can't score on a full 5 on 3 you don't deserve to win the game.

I agree its not a good idea to go on the radio and ***** about the officiating. Its not going to help matters. Saying something right after the game is one thing especially when emotions are running high but you just have to keep cool as GKJ says
Gagne has a right to be pissed off. As does Laviolette. Those should be the only 2 saying anything. if at all.
Everyone knows the war room in Toronto is a flawed system, and the Flyers arent the only ones who have been screwed over by it, so they should let that be.
I wonder if the Leafs have been screwed over by the war room

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of the job Timonen and Pronger were doing QBing that PP. Need to move around to open up passing lanes when you outnumber them 5 to 3. Instead they saw nothing open so Pronger would constantly wind up and blast. There's no traffic and a guy in the shooting lane. I can hardly even criticize what Pronger does, but that whole PP unit blew it.

Exactly it does a disservice to the team and stokers their egos. They are thinking; if the refs made the "right" calls, then they would have won the game.

When actually it would have been a tie.

This lets them think their current play is good enough and the only thing that needs to change is the refs.

That's not really true. I could say if you don't score on a 7 minute power play immediately after scoring a goal at even strength, you don't deserve to win. A lot went wrong last night, scoring on the 5 on 3 was only part of it. Elliot played really well too, and of course, Boosh let in at least one softy, two depending on who you talk to. It was a team effort to lose last night and it didn't help that the refs made such poor calls.

Try and look at it on the positive side. Yeah we lost. But the Flyers got royally screwed on a non call and a goal being waved off and still were in it most of the game. They got 26 shots off, which is nothing special but they did that while killing of a seven minute power play. That game could have been a lot worse (See Washington v. Philadelphia, Dec. 5, 2009). The bottom line is these guys are still in the playoffs (for now) and need to right this ship before it gets out of hand.

the Sens have the worst PP in the league. Dont think I would get excited over the PK last night.

True, esp. when you've got over $30 million worth of talent on the ice against 3 guys and a goalie.

Doesn't matter who it is. 7 minutes of power play in a row (especially considering the one was a major and could have been devastating) is a great kill whether it's against the 1992-93 Senators or the 2006-07 Senators.
