I don't even care about tonight. Make the playoffs, 8th seed, I don't care, just get 2 games in front of the home crowd and let **** happen.

Its a shame more people don't share this attitude. I think the club needs to wake up though we can't be losing games to teams like Ottawa and Atlanta right now.

Find me a team with a better 2nd pairing than Timonen-anyone and I'll show you a team that's in VERY good shape. I bet you could count them on one hand.

The real issue is the 4 defensemen after Timonen & Pronger. It's really not even debatable.

Parent's been awful, Coburn worse, Krajicek OK (when paired with Kimmo), Carle is hit or miss if he's not with Pronger.

Parent: coming off an injury I would expect him to struggle.
Coburn: It is what it is. 3rd pairing guys are on the 3rd pairing for a reason. Is it a weakness? I guess, but that's life in a cap world.
Krajicek and Carle: why talk about them when not paired with those guys? D-men work in pairs. Pronger-Carle and Timonen-Krajicek have been very effective.

All in all we have one of the best top pairs around, one of the best second pairs, and a weak third pair. I'm pretty happy with that.

Ok here is my plan for next year. Even if we don't win I wont care.

Trade Richards for Downie.
Trade Carter for Knuble
Keep Gagne, Laperriere, Betts and Carcillo.
Sign Peter Forsberg

Trade everyone else for picks.

Sign any goalie.

our problem seriously isnt our D, its our offense.

like al morganti said before the game, with a weaker goalie like boucher you cant afford to be in defensive struggle games, you need the 5-4 wins not 2-1 wins, b/c boosh will let in 1 or 2 weak ones.

on a side note, my friends and i all agree al morganti looks like the most "defeated" man ever...he looks so sad, like life beat him or something...

he looks like the cartoon dog droopy:

this is how we do it. time to make some heroes.

-hartnell goes primeau.
-bri or die
-carter pulls a reverse-lindros with the flyers down 3-1 to pittsburgh in round one.

You are not alone in that, at all.

Zues was pretty clutch on faceoffs as well.

Overall, I am very pessimistic, but most of that is a defense mechanism. If I believe the Fleyrs will lose, and they do, I expect it and get on with life. If I expect they win and then they lose, I become angry, depressed, throw things, etc. if I expect them to lose and they win, I experience extreme exuberance!

When the Flyers lose two games in a row to Atlanta, who are outside the playoffs, why should I have confidence that the team is good enough to make the playoffs? Based on the last three games, I think it is foolishness to think the team will make the playoffs. If I run a race and lose three times in a row, I would be stupid to hope in some sort of Disney fairytale ending that I will win the next race against similar of better competition. This kind of blind faith fan-ism is sheer stupidity to me. I can hope the team plays better, but what really makes you think they will?

Since there is no first round pick (which I still think getting Pronger was a good deal) I hope the team makes the playoffs so the lost first round pick is a low as possible. Because even if this team makes the playoffs, I don't see how this team could beat either the Penguins or Devils, two teams that I really hate to lose to.

Haha! Well, being an NC State fan and a Flyers/Eagles fan has really led to a life of dissapointment. To me, normal life consists of the team I want to win losing. That just seems normal to me.
